Limited last week at the Bengals' mandatory minicamp because of a tender ankle, wide receiver Chad Johnson will undergo arthroscopic surgery but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp on July 27. Johnson, who has been unhappy with the Bengals since the end of last season, reported in time for minicamp but did not participate fully in the two practices last Thursday, though he passed a physical that morning.

You might want to do a frontal lobotomy while you are at it......His knees are not the problem.

June 18, 2008  06:57 AM ET

He was supposed to have this surgery right after last season. Only selfish Ocho puts it off to avoid most of minicamp. This guy is going to have a bust season. Expect tons of balls to go to TJ Housh this year that went to Chad last yr.

Nice timing Chad! Why ruin your off season....

June 18, 2008  08:08 AM ET

What a maroon.

June 18, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Went in for a brain scan but nothing was found.

June 18, 2008  08:36 AM ET

him and his doofus agent had this whole thing planned from the start. ocho had bone spurs in his ankles......something he's probably been playing with since he came into the league. its not that serious and most high schoolers play with this type injury. and now that he wants out, he magically needs this surgery and plays it off as a injury that needs correction....puhleesse!!
i use to enjoy watching ocho cinco because he amused me with his off-beat persona and his playmaking ability all the while keeping the game fun. but now he's lost it.....he's turned into the typical self-serving WR that wants to throw a fit because he doesn't get his way! just another jerk!

Most people schedule elective surgery during vacation time but not this nimrod.

June 18, 2008  09:16 AM ET

Maybe he should have his jaw wired shut.

June 18, 2008  09:22 AM ET

Is this procedure to staple his mouth shut?

June 18, 2008  09:37 AM ET

Well he finally is gong to get the surgery to remove his head from his a$$

June 18, 2008  09:38 AM ET

What is the procedure for an enlarged ego?

He already had that done! They performed the lobotomy during delievery! His head was too big! He's been functioning on half a brain ever since!

June 18, 2008  09:58 AM ET

June 18, 2008  10:24 AM ET

Did anyone see #85 video on Deadspin. The guy is a trip.

Perform a surgery that will open TO's eyes. Maybe he'll realize that it's a big world, and he's really not at the center of it.

Here's hoping TO has complications that force him to sit out this year. He's the biggest turd on the rectum of the league.
