Packers consider trading for Taylor

While defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila said Wednesday he has "no doubt" his surgically repaired knee will be ready for the start of training camp, the Packers are keeping their options open. After informally asking the Dolphins what they wanted in exchange for defensive end Jason Taylor before the draft, the Packers have kept cursory contact with the Dolphins and have done their homework internally since then. Packers general manager Ted Thompson recently discussed Taylor with defensive coordinator Bob Sanders and defensive tackles coach Robert Nunn, who both coached Taylor with the Dolphins. Both assistants have a fondness for Taylor and would undoubtedly be in favor of acquiring the 2006 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

I'd give a big block of cheese and first dibs on Favre's locker. And I've never heard of "DANCE, DANCE". When did he say that? What is that? Sounds fun...

wonder what miami is asking for him at this point

June 19, 2008  08:06 AM ET

A six pack of beer (the good stuff) and the rights to Brett Favre's comeback.

Packers' GM Ted Thompson has been very smart. The Packers may be interested in aquiring Taylor, but rest assured that they won't overspend for an aging All-Pro DE. If Miami for asks too much in return, trade talks will be silenced quickly.

whats up with everybody posting page 1, am I missing something?

I see all the Miami fans really support there players. Jason Taylor would be a great help to no matter what team he chooses to play for. Yes Jason went out on HIS off season and took a chance and did something he normally would not have done. He did quite well to say the least. After Miami's last season who would not want to look to play some where else. Some of you think Green Bay isn't going to do well this year, well I am sure they will do better than Miami did last year. If Taylor and the Packers make the trade Green Bay will do even better.

June 19, 2008  09:14 AM ET

Taylor has been a great asset to Miami and I for one hope he does stay this year but if he does get traded the price is gonna be high for whom ever gets him. I think this is a lets see who is gonna pay the price kinda trade if Miami doesn't get him he will be a Dolphin atleast at the start of the season.

I mean if Miami doesn't get what they want.
Sorry to early in the morning
