Glenn softens stance with Cowboys

Disgruntled Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn indicated Wednesday he could be ready to mend fences with team owner Jerry Jones and join the team for training camp next month in Oxnard, Calif. Glenn and Jones have been at loggerheads over a proposed split contract that would reduce Glenn's salary from $1.74 million to $500,000 should he reinjure his surgically repaired right knee. One day after he said the club should go ahead and release him because he has no plans to sign the injury waiver, Glenn softened his rhetoric, telling ESPN.com he would "love nothing more" than to remain a Cowboy.

Yeah, I guess a small paycheck is better than no paycheck.

Terry has little leverage, either his signs the agreement or gets cut and makes the veterans minimum.

Not everyday you see loggerheads used in a sentence. Hats off T&R

I think Terry finally sat down last night and did the math. He was subtracting when he should have been adding. Common mistake....I do it all the time...

guess his agent didn't get any calls from other teams pledging to sign her if the cowboys cut her.

sorry terry, miami didn't call..

In other words....."Terri begged for this job back".

Good move by Glenn. He never said he was signing any waiver. And he is not bound to do so.. Sounds to me like he is going to show up and leave it up to Jones..I know that is not what most read in to this, but not once did he say he would sign it, only said it is up to Jones...

June 19, 2008  08:24 AM ET

He's one of the most hatted players in Dallas right now! Almost in the Roy Williams range

Miami is a beautiful Latin city. Dont you watch CSI Miami?

June 19, 2008  09:03 AM ET

jctoo ..Exactly. He has Jones cornered in my opinion. If you bar me from camp you have to pay me anyways. If you cut me I am free and you pay me some. If you declare me injured I get the injury settlement..It is easy enough for him to say he is signing the waiver if he means to, he never said a thing about it..
He just traded knights and put Jones in Check..His move.

Smart man. Jerry and Glenn will work this out. What other team would sign him that is contending for a Super Bowl?

What other team would sign him that is contending for a Super Bowl?

The Eagles.

June 19, 2008  09:52 AM ET

Earth to 50yearfan,

The news may be slow getting to your area, so here it is: The Eagles are NOT contending for any super bowl that I know of.

Respectfully,
Planet Earth

No wonder this guy is so hard to please on madden '08. You can sign him to huge deals, and he never seems super happy. John must know something we didn't!
