What was perceived as a cold shoulder has turned into an embrace. A day after completing a workout with the Bulls in Chicago and indicating he would bypass a similar session with the Heat, Derrick Rose has made plans to meet with the other team at the top of Thursday's NBA Draft. Rose's representative, B.J. Armstrong, the former Bulls championship guard, confirmed Friday that Rose is scheduled to meet with the Heat today in Los Angeles. Armstrong said Rose's previous uncertainty about a session with the Heat was a matter of the guard allowing his representatives to handle such matters.

Guess chicago called him after his comments and said: Sorry to hurt your feeling but in no way are we drafting you over beasley. or chicago doesn't want to let the cat ouf of the bag as Rose did with his idiotic comments.

This is just for show. Rose will be a Bull, and Gordon will be dealt.

June 21, 2008  10:42 AM ET

It's not for show-
he will likely be #1 and if not will NEVER fall below #2.
he's making his rounds in case the bulls decide to go beasley

June 21, 2008  10:54 AM ET

Talk about backtracking.

June 21, 2008  11:48 AM ET

i like derrick rose and all but you couldnt give it to some shittier team and get maybe the 3rd of 4th pick and get a valuable guard off of them?...we could take an al jefferson off the timberwolves...cause we all remember how much of a commodity he was in boston even though he was that "untouchable piece" they did it anyways cause they knew what they were getting inr eturn...a ring...

so just because they're on a **** team doesnt mean they're **** players...

June 21, 2008  11:48 AM ET

now i know al jefferson isnt a guard but he sorta helps the low post scoring if ur not gonna go for a premier guard

June 21, 2008  11:55 AM ET

Geez I hope he can live up to all the hype he's getting when he reaches the NBA. Talk about having a target on your back !!!

June 21, 2008  04:23 PM ET

I don't know that he can live up to all the hype, but the good thing for Rose is there will be a draft after that and people will be talking about the next great player. i'm really starting to see how mediocre the Oden/Durant draft was especially as someone made this point that is Mayo didn't have to go to college for a year, he would have most likely been taken first with Oden and Durant fighting for the second spot.

we dont need him we have wade

This draft is intriguing to me. I equate it to the 1994 nba draft. In which it was mainly a two two horse race between a scoring rebounder in glenn robinson and a franchise changing pG in jason Kidd. Glenn Robinson was clearly the more talented player back then, and avveraged roughly 29 pts, and 11 rebs a game in college. Jason Kidd was a stud who averaged 16 pts, 6 rebs, and 6 assts. much like rose. We now see where each of those players careers went. Glenn robinson turned into a all-star, and J. Kidd turned into one of the greatest, (if not the greatest) pg of all-time. So to me It's a no brainer. Can yall smell the roses?

Note: J. Kidd still has a legit roster spot for a playoff contender too. Where's big dawg @ now? Will Rose have longer career than Beasley?

Mayo would not have been first by the way bro. They had Brandon Roy. It would've been Oden regardless. 7 footer like greg are a rarity. Any team would've taken him, and if he was in this year's draft i guarantee the bulls would take him in a heartbeat.

June 21, 2008  05:08 PM ET

Imagine how deep this year's draft would be if Oden, and Durant stayed in college for one more year.

June 21, 2008  05:09 PM ET

I think it would go like this:
1. Oden
2. Rose
3. Beasley
4. Durant

June 21, 2008  06:49 PM ET

If the Bulls pass on Rose they deserve to finish in last place in the division next year. Simple as that.

June 21, 2008  08:02 PM ET

that is why chicago and miami have thw top two spots, no real franchise players in this draft.

-nice point

To be honest with you D. Rose is not worthy enough to be mention as 1 of the top pick. He does not have a killer moves like other point guard and no shots at all!! and 6'1 not 6'4 folks. O.J mayor is way better then him. You watch Rose is not Shawn Livingston Overated!!

They used to say that about J. Kidd too, and he ended up going 2nd in 94.

Heater | 06/21/08, 09:55 AM

By the way Rose never said he wasn't going to wrokout for the heat. it was his protective brother reggie who made the comment that this was rose's last stop. Rose actually said he was unsure if he would workout with the heat. Heater's facts = incorrect
