Big-name forwards on trade market

Small forwards on the market include Richard Jefferson of the Nets, Josh Howard of the Mavericks, Gerald Wallace of the Bobcats and Tayshaun Prince of the Pistons. But there are stumbling blocks to each deal. The Mavs might not want to send Howard to a rival team. Detroit president Joe Dumars is probably not interested in Boris Diaw. The Nets need contracts that expire by 2010. And it's unclear whether the Suns would be willing to take back Wallace's contract.

i dont really want to get rid of odom. the three big men will be a monster front court. but if we do i would love to get gerald wallace... bobcats would make this deal for odoms expiring contract if they wanna clear some cap room.
i would love for the lakers to make this deal... if they could plus try to find a good facilitator at the point so dfish can come of the bench... farmer and odom mayby for wallace and pick 38 add some pieces so it works cap wise... then the lakers could draft baby aussie shaq nathan jawai.

Leave Wallace alone Michael. Draft Lopez, move Okafor to the 4 spot, and you've got the makings of a basketball team.

trade lammar and farmar to charlotte for their 1st round pick and hope to get russell westbrook and sean may dammage goods

Most of these guys are quality players. If Cleveland cannot land one, Danny Ferry needs to be fired pronto. Other teams such as Miami, LA, and Milwaukee could use one of these guys. It may be an interesting off-season in the NBA, as several teams try to match the Celtics' formula for success by employing a Big Three.

cheating loser lakers told you suckers LLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY in LAKERLAND couldnt get the job doneyou JOCKsniffers

off court another thing kupchick does his fair share of blowing, kobe hurts his fingers in managements @rzeholes and millions of dollars go under the table to tight owners to get guys like gasol for scrubs

lakers could get jefferson for odom and improves lakers even further but can kobe handle someone steeling the limelight i dont think so it would blowup

talent aint everything

June 21, 2008  10:34 AM ET

artest to lakerland - this happens when artest finally decides hes gonna actually punch kryobes lights out

dont do it ron-ron they dont desreve to use you for your defense and toughness - win a title and boot your @rse out of town

June 21, 2008  10:37 AM ET

"Most of these guys are quality players"

true-
but they aren't going to be 'difference makers'
Prince & Jeff are really nice role players....
but you aren't going to give up a lot to get them.

June 21, 2008  10:40 AM ET

Tayshaun Prince is probably what (perfect in triangle offense) the lakers need most under the circumstances (good defender and will score points without hurting kryobes feelings) with pistons getting RJ (they will do this because they are stale on offense) and odom expiring to the nets (all they want is contracts coming to an end

WATCH this 3 way TRADE

bynum - gasol - prince - kryobe - fisher

i hate the lakers but that is a decent bl00ddy starting 5 that would really gel

winkstrap, your mom isn't a hostess at a Cordillera, Colorado hotel, is she? Sure sounds like it by your rants.

June 21, 2008  10:50 AM ET

It actually is a good looking trade Wink- each team gets something they need
not sure about contract match-ups though

June 21, 2008  10:53 AM ET

Joe Dumars is an idiot if he parts ways with Prince. You can't find a defender as good as he is off the street.

"Joe Dumars is an idiot if he parts ways with Prince. You can't find a defender as good as he is off the street."

I agree partially-
the problem is that they need front court scoring-
Wallace will be gone and Prince is really a slasher-type
he only averages like 13 pts a game

I think if they can find a good replacement for Wallace they will be okay. Stuckey came alive in the playoffs and should be pretty good off the bench to give them some extra points.

June 21, 2008  11:07 AM ET

The only player we WORLD CHAMPION BOSTON CELTICS are interested in is Tayshaun Prince - a real team player !!!

June 21, 2008  11:09 AM ET

pistons are a real good team who are stale
how often do they switch off on offense ??????????????????
thats why they need a RJ or another trade a suggested a while back

wallace and prince to the nuggets for nene and carmelo ( makes sense when you see contracts changing not just talent!!!!!!!!!!)

prince is not a superstar but for what he does hes great and people look at things seriously what superstar can play next to kryobe without getting him offside, more to the point krobe needs T.Prince

June 21, 2008  11:14 AM ET

They better not send prince to lala land...i wouldn't mind the nets though...

June 21, 2008  11:16 AM ET

I can see Prince in hometown LA. If I'm Kupcake I don't part with Farmar, but work all summer trying to fleece a team into trading Walton. Or make him a mandatory throw in. He sux

June 21, 2008  11:19 AM ET

you laker duds actually remember kryobe attacking odom last season
you see the looks he was giving during the nba finals
odom you now have some trade value - pack your bags you ugly dud

June 21, 2008  11:20 AM ET

A trade that should happen is Barbosa, Diaw, 48th pick for Jefferson and the 10th pick.
This would make NJ young and easier for them to rebuild and give PHX a young 3 that can create his own shot and be able to defend players like Odom, Artest, James, and Pierce, since all of them are big 3's.

June 21, 2008  11:25 AM ET

even though Prince is from Compton, CA he should still stay on the east coast...and definitely not the bobcats either...
