Some Dolphins officials believe their safeties are better than Dallas'. Among the best battles in camp: Jason Allen (first-team snaps in May/June), Renaldo Hill (expects to be 100 percent after surgery to an anterior cruciate ligament) and former Falcons starter Chris Crocker vying to start opposite Yeremiah Bell. ''Jason has a lot of speed and I like what I see, as much as you can like in shorts and a T-shirt,'' secondary coach Todd Bowles said.

June 22, 2008  10:29 AM ET

The Fins need to concentrate on being better than Oakland or Florida International University or the local Girl Scout troop before they bow up on a playoff team.

Why all this damn comparison to the Cowboys? Jealousy, that's why. Face it Miami, the Tuna is washed up. You will NOT become the team you think he can give you. His ideas are old and archaic.

June 22, 2008  11:52 AM ET

why was that necessary?

June 22, 2008  12:02 PM ET

When you're coming off a 1-15 season it looks pretty ignorant to brag how your players are better than the Cowboys

June 22, 2008  12:05 PM ET

As bad as they were last year, they still had a lot of close games. They lost 6 games by a field goal. Another 3 by 10 or less. They weren't a total fish out of water like everyone said. They had basically no real leaders and no real offense and they were still a play or 2 away from having 5-7 wins last year easy. I don't think they'll win 7 games this year but I'd say 3-4 is a real possibility.

The headline made me think he was talking about condoms.

June 22, 2008  12:57 PM ET

has nothing to do with being ignorant, there been trade rumors of the dolphins aquiring roy williams, and their young guys will be better than williams, its about building you team from within and giving those guys confidence. yeah we was 1-15 but we're making progress, bill wins with his type of players, and the cowboys are filled with parcells type of players, we are heading in the right direction

This is Allen's third year. He must produce this year or he risks being released or traded in the offseason.

..."as much as you can like in T-shirts and shorts."

Uncomfortable, I suddenly am.

June 22, 2008  05:57 PM ET
