Beasley won't fall past T-Wolves

While the Heat has deployed its cone of silence when it comes to its No. 2 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, the Timberwolves, who select at No. 3, have been far more open. Foremost, if the Heat should bypass on Michael Beasley, Minnesota apparently would be more than willing to pounce. "Nothing is more overrated, in my opinion, than your height," Timberwolves Vice President Kevin McHale said, with others expressing concern that Beasley measured in 2 inches shorter than his previously listed 6 feet 10.

Beasley will fall WITH T-Wolves

if pick 2 is swapped for pick 3 what would the twolves need to give the heat?

something like :

pick 2 to the twolves for pick 3 and pick 31
then the heat can draft mayo and have pick 31 to play with

June 22, 2008  11:20 AM ET

i dont trust things with riley in charge something like above may happen

if heat actually keep pick 2 and draft beasly (haslem-marion-beasley) someone is gonna get moved

Absolutely no chance Beasley isn't top-two. How is this even an item?

It's an item because both Chicago and Miami thought they were getting a power forward. And the 6'8" was with his shoes on.

I think both Beasley and Mayo are overrated and only care about their Sportscenter highlights and next rap video appearance....Trade the pick, Riley for an established power forward

June 22, 2008  12:55 PM ET

da twolves should jus trade up den..he would b an amazin fit wit dem becuz of his scorin ability n i always compared his scorin ability to kg but a better pure shooter...trade up n let da heat draft mayo....every1 wins

June 22, 2008  01:27 PM ET

We all know how much McHale's opinion is worth as a GM.

June 22, 2008  02:13 PM ET

this is an issue because we have someone like pat riley in charge. who is a genius in his own mind. tried that with Dorrell Wright (though i think he would have been awesome if he had played for Phil Jackson, who make his players feel at ease, instead of Pat Riley, who makes his players nervous and breaks their confidence, by screaming at young kids who somehow are supposed to come in the league already with NBA experience and not make mistakes), and over thought last years draft and got Cook. Over thought 2001 draft, but since he was stepping aside (he knew already most likely), he drafted Wade since his coaching staff begged him too.

June 22, 2008  04:14 PM ET

salvaje50 shut up mayo will be the best in this draft and still have time to go to a rap video

June 22, 2008  05:58 PM ET

He won't fall past number two. There is no such thing as a sure thing but he and Rose are the two closest things to being a sure thing in the draft. The Heat are crazy if they go with someone else over him. Trade Haslem if you have to select him.

June 22, 2008  06:01 PM ET

YEAH HE WON'T. HE'LL GO TO THE HEAT WHILE WE TAKE ROSE! GO BULLS!

June 22, 2008  06:19 PM ET

Thank you, C Note. Beasley is for real. Everyone knows it. Any other rumor-mill craziness is posturing. He will go no later than 2. 6'8", 6'10", 7'. He scores, he rebounds. He's a ball player.

June 22, 2008  06:51 PM ET

wasn't Charles Barkley a few inches shorter than his listed height, he did ok as a player. I believe Sir Charles was actually 6' 6".

June 22, 2008  06:58 PM ET

is this news?

vaughn9

Barkey was a freak at 6'5" but believe me, Beasley is no Barkley.

June 22, 2008  07:30 PM ET

i believe sir charles was 6' 4" and 7/8ths though that is a bit pedantic

June 22, 2008  08:23 PM ET

6'6. 6'4...2 inches only matter to your girlfriend...

June 22, 2008  09:14 PM ET

to barkking beasely rebounds and scores in college at 6'7" those three inches will mean everything in "THE LEAGUE" he might make it as a SF in the NBA but not at the PF and he will never average double digit rebounds. Thank the good lord my bulls are taking Rose!!!!!!!!!!

June 22, 2008  09:42 PM ET

The Bulls will select Rose with the #1 overall pick this Thursday in the NBA draft and here is why..http://www.suntimes.com/sports/basketball/bulls/1017735,CST-SPT-bull2 2.article
