Interim manager Jerry Manuel says Moises Alou might not return to the Mets this season and could decide to hang them up at age 41. With Alou already on the disabled list for the third time this season due to various ailments, Manuel said he at least has to plan for the veteran left fielder to miss the rest of the year.

Nice that Mets management is coming around to the conclusiion that we fans came too last year. Better late than never isn't always the case.

Mets better be scanning the classifieds for an outfielder. Question: Why hasn't Kenny Lofton been given a call? They have some sluggers... Lofton could play left, bat 1st, 2nd, or 7th, is on base a lot, and probably most important to the Mets, he'd be a good guy in the clubhouse.
