Doc: Schilling could pitch again

There was a bit of vindication for both Curt Schilling and Dr. Craig Morgan yesterday, as Morgan completed surgery on the right shoulder of the Red Sox pitcher. Not only did the surgery go well, but the findings were as good as could have been expected from the examinations done prior to the arthroscopic procedure. Morgan called it "kind of a best-case scenario." With the rotator cuff, there was really only good news for Schilling. Morgan said it had an unusual tear, but not a major one. It took just one stitch to repair. Had there been a major problem with the rotator cuff, that likely would have ended Schilling's career, which still remains in jeopardy. With the biceps tenodesis surgery, along with the repair of the labrum tear, Morgan said Schilling could be four months away from picking up a baseball.

That's great, but is Schilling a jerk or not? He does not have HOF numbers, but he be wanting to talk about the OF and it is because he is just needed that - PR. The promotion of himself. He has played in good teams, sure he is good pitcher and I sincerely hope that his arm is not numb like his brain, because that would be a shame.

if he does come back ... the shill will get shelled

4 months? This is Morgan & Schill's way of telling the Sox "I told you so". They wanted him to have surgery in March so he'd be ready late season, but the Sox opted for rehad which obviously didn't work.

YEA 4 months away from picking up a baseball??? Everyone should remember that he picked up a years salary in 30 seconds and gave back nothing, You can hear the Feb, March Schilling rants about I am going to play for NY if the Red Sox dont resign me for 2009. Another nail in the Coffin for 38 whinings.

yeah he could pitch again but at his age it will be for batting practice. they will call him meat.

June 24, 2008  08:19 AM ET

June 24, 2008  08:34 AM ET

he's gonna pull a clemens and see who is interested in mid june

June 24, 2008  08:36 AM ET

Schilling might also write in his blog again, that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

June 24, 2008  09:07 AM ET

We can rebuild him. We have the technology...

"Mr.Schilling, we can repair your arm, but it will require an unusual procedure to use your excessively large facial muscles in your shoulder and your mouth will have to be moved to your arse."

"oh, that's ok...I usually talk out of my arse anyway."

Thank you Curt for all you have done but it is time to retire.

June 24, 2008  09:16 AM ET

How about Curt pitches again but just stops talking for the rest of his career?

June 24, 2008  09:27 AM ET

Schill could pitch again... and monkies could fly outta my rear.

June 24, 2008  09:46 AM ET

Schill just needs to retire.

He has options. He could substitute for Imus when he gets fired. (one idiot for another)

-OR-

He could start modeling for mens XL clothing lines.............
