The N.B.A.'s attempt to recoup nearly $1.4 million in restitution from the disgraced referee Tim Donaghy is "a transparent attempt at witness intimidation," his lawyer said Monday. In a court filing, the lawyer, John Lauro, accused the league of making the claim as retaliation for Donaghy's recent assertion that league officials manipulated the outcomes of games. He's a crook, no doubt about it. But when the NBA's lawyers get finished with him, he won't have anything. Not a dime, nickel, or penny, not a job, not a friend, nothzing. The NBA doesn't like him because he ratted them out. Like the mob, if only they could...they would!

Dude is telling the truth. Why would he make this stuff up now? He's already going to jail for a long time - lying at this point will only add to his sentence.

The NBA turned their back on him, so now he's like "Eff it" There is a high possibility he's telling the truth, but proof is circumstantial so far.

No one knows for sure what proof he may or may not have. Anyone remember a guy named Brian McNamee??????????? Just because he's trying to get a lighter sentence, doesn't mean he' lying. Everyone here would do the same damn thing. Stern is just trying to get revenge.
