Wake Forest suspends forward

Wake Forest forward Jamie Skeen has been suspended for the fall semester of the 2008-09 school year for violating an academic policy. Skeen, who played at North Mecklenburg High, averaged 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds as a sophomore last season. "Sometimes good people make poor decisions, and that is what happened here," said Deacons coach Dino Gaudio. "Hopefully, this will be a learning experience for the young man that will help him grow as a person."

Just what I expected from Wake Forest. The kid violated a school academic policy, and now he is paying for it. Well done, Coach Gaudio. Its good to know that some schools, and coaches, still place an emphasis on the student side of the student-athlete.
