Michael Strahan was in the midst of being introduced as the newest pundit on Fox's "NFL Sunday" on Tuesday when a television show broke out. Strahan, a former Giant, had just been asked what he thought of his former teammates, Jeremy Shockey and Plaxico Burress. They are currently boycotting the team's off-season training and demanding contract renegotiations. "Obviously, he is underpaid for what he does and brings to the team," Strahan said of Burress. "For him, in his defense, it is the right time to do that. But to be honest with you, in professional football, there is no loyalty," he added. "There is really no contract."

how many probowls? he is a good reciever not elite though. winning makes people greedy. the G-Men will not make the playoffs this year. they never have after a superbowl.

Dammit, come on guys. Like i said before, these players, all over the NFL, is whats wrong with the game and as a fan i say screw them, BUT i'm a GIANTS fan, so front office, GM, owners, and coach's come on; get these guys back on the field and lets get ready for some football.

does any player think that he is overpaid? i wish players were cut more frequently when they have bad years, versus when they start to age yet are still productive.

What does Strahan think of Shockey's situation? Come on Mike, you'll never make it to Tiki's level if you can't start bashing some of your old teamates.

June 25, 2008  07:49 AM ET

He is right. For what Plax brings to this team and compared to the salaries of other teams #1 receivers, he is underpaid. And I fully expect he will be getting a raise, especially after he played through the pain of a bum ankle all season long and still put up good numbers.

And vaughn that is just a dumb statistic sports journalists use to add word-count to their articles. They never made playoffs after a SB? How many players are on this team that were even in their last SB? One. Explain how this TEAM has less of a chance of making the playoffs based on the CLUBS history?

==================

He said the Giants should trade Shockey because he's unhappy. But of course, before he retired, he told them not to trade Shockey.

So go figure. Something about getting that blazer on that changes a dude.

I personally wish the NFL would have went with performance based pay, you get a set rate for your position and bonuses for each level you move up your numbers for the season, it would stop the i deserve this much and make it a more interesting game, the players would be playing instead of whinning about it.

June 25, 2008  08:01 AM ET

The G-Men will be back! They will make the playoffs Vaughn9, 12-4/11-5 will be good enpugh to make it.

June 25, 2008  08:01 AM ET

enough, my bad

June 25, 2008  08:03 AM ET

jesus man. I am underpaid. i dont think either of these clowns are.

June 25, 2008  08:03 AM ET

maybe i wont show up for work and see what happens

June 25, 2008  08:16 AM ET

I'm overpaid and underworked.

June 25, 2008  08:20 AM ET

Lallybone.. it's not like they don't pay a penalty for missing mandatory team activites. They get fined for each day they're absent. Thing is they can afford it. You probably can't.

June 25, 2008  08:23 AM ET

i think strahan is right about plax. i think most think he's underpaid compared to other #1 option WR in the league not to mention a big WR is always more valuable but contrary to what strahan had to say about the nfl contracts they are real contracts and should be honored because if they are not then you get what is happened throughout the league prior to every season. "i want more $$".
guys should go about it the right way not with threats of sitting out or whatever. but by approaching the organization with valid points to support a raise. plax has got some excellent selling points the team should recognize that and compensate him accordingly if they don't.......tough shyte....keep your mouth shut play out your contract and go somewhere else when you get the chance. this refusal to play unless i get paid crap is just that...crap!! deactivate whoever goes that route!

Strahan: I don't know when to shut up.

June 25, 2008  08:42 AM ET

Dude, that not showing up for work and then getting other people to complain works real well. Well, if you are independently wealthy or are about to get sent up for a crime or something, it does. Otherwise, don't do it. Really.

June 25, 2008  08:45 AM ET

Strahan maybe right that Plax is underpaid, but Strahan spent sometime overpaid. He is one of those **** that doesn't realize that if you give a bunch of guys some extra money you start to LOSE alot of talent because you cant afford them anymore. Thye need to get the big picture and realize that you cant be a bigtime team year in and year out if your all too greedy. But these kind of players dont care about they're team just themselves
