Canucks join hunt for Hossa

Marian Hossa will have several clubs pursuing his services July 1, and Vancouver is considered a fast-charging contender as the Canucks look to make a splash in the offseason. The Canucks also plan to chase left wing Ryan Malone, who said last week he will exercise his unrestricted option. Vancouver likely cannot offer Hossa $8 million annually over five years - the deal he is believed to be seeking - but would bid high for Malone, possibly more than $5 million annually on a long-term contract.

Penguin fans.. I have a kids long sleeve grey PENGUINS lightweight sweatshirt that is a medium to large with a 40 inch chest and 23 inches collar to hem and about 17 for the arm. I want NO money - I got it for my son on e-bay since they said it was XL. Ha! My son is built like a linebacker. Write with an address and it is yours. No postage -- no charge.

I used to be the Wings fan.

BP, do you have any Sox shirts? I'll take an XL please!

Why would anyone want to go to Vancouver?

"The Canucks also plan to chase left wing Ryan Malone"

Well, take a number 'nuckleheads! You and 29 other teams! Unfortunately some American team is going to pay an obscene amount of money to for both of their services. Both him and Hossa will get what they want and more. All they have to do is sit, watch and wait.

When it comes to offer sheets for FAs, few GMs have their feet firmly planted on the ground. Gomez, Drury, Briere and Penner are just a few of last year's examples of GMs going insane in their pursuit of FAs.

DCruise is the epitome of fashion accessories who desires a shirt to match his Sox.

The biggest "splash" the Nuck's could make would be to "wave adieu to the Synchronized Swimming Sisters."
The idea of getting Hossa there...well that just sounds like a lot of Maloney to me.

Okay, isn't it a little early for this kind of thing?

If you mean to play hockey I concur.

But to live, Hongcouver is hard to beat for a big city.

June 25, 2008  09:50 AM ET

In a purely selfish postion (the only kind I take) I want Hossa to end up in Hongcouver. Might as well have a detested player on my detested team. Saves me from splitting my fire when I'm aiming at a target.

Hopefully they keep the Sisters and Naslund, sign Hossa and forgoe Malone. Then I'd have all my eggs in one basket.

Then they could pursue Tin Man Heatley and I'd be set.

By the way, why do they keep running that picture of Hossa on his tuckas?

I'm curious to see if other teams were just to go after only one of the Sedin's would it be inappropriate to run a headline such as...
Other Teams join in on the HenriK-Hunt...
I'm guessing we may see ****'s from FN on this type of Head-Line.

I think they must have spent their photo budget - see Nashville thread, same damn picture over and over again.
