Michigan, Vols like Florida RB

Michigan's offer: Check. Tennessee's: Check. University of Miami, Florida, Florida State: Well, not so fast. It seems not every big-time school is interested in small-but-productive Pahokee running back Vincent Smith. Particularly those in his home state. ''Because I'm from Florida, all the schools from Florida I've been [a big fan of] since I was little,'' said Smith, who has a handful of offers -- but none from the Sunshine State. ``So it's a little devastating about them overlooking me. ``But I'm all right.'' Indeed he is. Smith might come up short, height-wise (he lists himself at 5-9, although some have him at 5-7), but not in many other places. His 40-yard dash time -- the high 4.3-range and dropping, he says -- is stellar. Smith said he will visit Michigan, Tennessee and Minnesota in one swing this summer, the first time he has been to any of those campuses.

"Does anyone know which conference is better? Big Ten or SEC?"

When was the last time TN won ANYTHING.....

Lets be real here, you put TN in the big ten, its Minnesota. Congrats getting 1 conference title a decade. They're probably the most overrated school in the nation in terms of being a 'power' school. If even BAMA has 1 good year sometime soon they're more respectful than TN.

Pathetic.

biminator, you're like the little kid on the school bus who smacks the biggest kid in the back of the head, then when he turns around to see who hit him, you point at some other poor fool who isn't even paying attention. Niiiiice!

All I know is that the SEC has had it's way with the Buckeyes the last two years. But, the Buckeye's proctologist is on record saying that the buckeye's rectal sphincter has healed and is ready for another pounding this year!

June 26, 2008  09:58 AM ET

Very nice Warden. It does make me wonder if the Buckeyes don't secretly wish NOT to make to NC game. A lot to win but so much more to lose.

June 26, 2008  10:03 AM ET

MrFair,

All joshing aside, The Buckeyes will have a very good team this year and should have a good chance of making a third trip to the NC. It's not guaranteed of course but they have the talent and coaching to get there. Only road block will be USC. If OSU can take care of USC in L.A. then the NC is OSU's to lose, imho.

June 26, 2008  10:04 AM ET

Hey warden.

January 1, 2008 Michigan 41 Florida 35

and lets be real it wasn't even that close.

June 26, 2008  10:08 AM ET

HIV guy...you put Michigan in the SEC and they're South Carolina. The Weak 10 is a joke, and sadly for you, everyone already knows it. It's really not a debate anymore.

June 26, 2008  10:20 AM ET

and there it was folks the first mouth breather from the SEC to take the bait!

LOL lets be real here kiddo. The bottom of the SEC has never won anything and never will. ESPECIALLY south carolina. The top 2 of big ten and SEC are usually on par with each other (michigan > FL, LSU > o$u) these days.

And i'm sparing you by not even bringing up a history debate here.

Are you referring to the same UT team that beat Michigan in a bowl game a few years back, won the national title in 1998, beat Wisconsin this year, or beat Ohio State in their only bowl mathcup?

June 26, 2008  11:00 AM ET

But more importantly this kid with that speed and size could be an excellent kick or punt returner. Plus at his age he may grow a couple more inches.

June 26, 2008  11:08 AM ET

Mike Hart was like 5-9, wasn't he? Isn't he their type of back? Yeah, he's got some spokes; probably means he's on the skinny side like Trindon Holliday.

June 26, 2008  11:15 AM ET

Wasn't Maurice Wells a short fast kid that was supposed to light up the big 10? Sometimes fast doesnt equate in to success...

June 26, 2008  11:19 AM ET

He sounds like he has enough speed, i.e. Noel Devine, for a Rich Rodriguez offense.

I'm referring to the same TN who is constantly a preseason top ten and never comes close. THOSE guys.

June 26, 2008  11:40 AM ET

I see. Sort of like Michigan last year. A Top 5 school that ends no where near where they started. Hope your ready for this season. Might want to have the paramedics on hand.

Good point, but those Big Ten linebackers are alot different than the Big East.
