Bucks like Alexander, Randolph

Forward Joe Alexander of West Virginia may have to pinch himself when the National Basketball Association draft gets under way tonight at Madison Square Garden. You know, just to let himself know that the big moment has finally arrived. "As we approach the draft, I just get more butterflies, and I get more excited," said Alexander during a pre-draft media session on Wednesday. "I just find myself thinking more about all the years that have led up to this, and it's amazing that it's finally here. It's like something you know is going to happen a long way down the road but the closer you get to it, it almost seems to never be in front of you." And while nothing is set in stone, the Bucks do have interest in the 6-foot-8 Alexander, as they do in 6-10 forward Anthony Randolph of LSU.

Milwaukee will have to go another route if they want to get significantly better, faster. Neither Alexander nor Randolph is the answer, but it will be nice for Alexander to live out his dream on an NBA team. I see a draft and trade here though.

Milwaukee, perennial east doormat
I'm surprise they still have a NBA team or Baseball team
HeII the only team worth a damn in the State of Wisconsin is the Packers and that's not saying much.

Why do you keep doing this?

June 26, 2008  01:48 PM ET

Alexander fills a need (small forward) and depending on how the draft plays out he may be the best available player left on the board. Randolph's a stretch, (no pun intended) and if the Bucks are interested in him they should trade out of the #8 spot and trade down, possibly with Portland for their two first round picks.

check the history on the milwaukee hoops club budd,,they had a good record for a long time, wins vs losses im sayin.
and when you say PACKERS,you have said alot
show me a franchise that can boast what GB does.
you cant,GB is the most unique franchise in all sports and have won more championships then any other NFL team.period, ask someone who knows ,what stadium is the most revered in the NFL and i would bet Lambeau is the answer.dont be bitter,be proud of the fact that your fav NFL team is in the same Leauge as the GREEN BAY PACKERS

The Bucks haven't had a winning season since the 80s and 70s ever since then they just been mediocre with maybe a one or two showing in the playoffs.
The Brewers has been crap for 2 decades.

I just plain dont like the Packers with or without Brett "cant make up his mind" Farve (he is a damn good QB though)

If the trade goes through for Jefferson......
NO WAY they take Alexander (same position as RJ)

And if they are aquiring RJ- they likely won't take a 'project' in Randolph

Wow, great move Bucks - either of those players could pan out nicely and become the next Yi Jilian.

Keep in mind I made my post BEFORE the word was out that deal with the Nets was going to go through. All I can tell you is here in Milwaukee the media speculation is that the Bucks are high on Alexander and Randolph with Love as a possibility as well. Alexander's obviously out. I can't see them going after Love (if he's available) because his game is very similar to Bogut's and they need an athletic "4" who can block shots and rebound to compliment Bogut. That player could be Randolph. So, no, I don't put it beyond the realm of possibility that the Bucks might draft him. But they would be wise to trade down a couple of spots because he's a bit too high to go at #8. Gordon and Bayless might also be possibilities I guess some of it depends on the scouting info Skiles get's from Kelvin Sampson his asst. coach.

Packers suck, Bucks stink, Brewers blow (Badgers too). When you say Wisconsin, you said nothing.

Oh yeah, please speak of super bowls when you talk about football. The Pre SB championships don't really count because the league was completely different.

June 27, 2008  04:03 AM ET

What the hell is Hammond doing? Okay, SF was a weak spot for the Bucks but trading for RJ plus picking TWO SFs in the draft is a bit of overkill.

Oh, and saying "pre SB don't really count" is like saying NBA championships don't count before the merger with the ABA or Final Fours don't count before the field of 64 ... stupid argument!!!

June 27, 2008  07:06 AM ET

nope funny boy, your wrong, they do count,,they mite not count in your simple mind, but to the league they count,,and nothin you say or believe even matters, thats all that dosent count here, your opinion
to say that wisconsin sports blows is like sayin there isnt a blues guitar player ever to come out of texas that was ever worth a damn.
get real

don't forget how great those Texan politicans are too. boy what a treat they are to live with.

either way, i love posts where fools push the subject aside just to bash a state. great show of maturity there. 99% of the time that means that state's team cold clocked that dudes team. therefore, on behalf of WI sports, HAHA!
