LB picks Terps over Hokies

Dinwiddie (Va.) High School head football coach Billy Mills expected his star linebacker, Bradley Johnson, to return home from Maryland's camp this week with a decision on where he'd play college football. Johnson, who sported offers from Maryland, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, East Carolina, Duke and Richmond, had essentially narrowed his list to the Terps and Hokies. "I walked into the weight room yesterday morning and he had a Maryland shirt on, so that pretty much told me what his decision was," Mills said. "Bradley's a very intelligent young man, real mature for his age. He thinks ahead. He didn't take his decision lightly, so he's excited about what lies ahead the next four years." Mills actually thought Johnson, 6 feet 2, 215 pounds, was leaning toward Virginia Tech.

Welll who can blame him, all implacations show that Buzz Beamer is but years away from retiring and as soon he went VT will go back to the way they were pre Buzzz Beamer, while Maryland seems to be one of 2 teams on the rise in the ACC

what did that last comment mean. VT owns MD. And just a little fyi, VT didnt lose in one sport to MD this past year,

I'm saying that basicly Virginia Tech is a sinking ship, let's face it, they aren't bringing in the big time recruits needed to keep wining, while maryland has been getting big recruits.

Actually VPI lost to Meryland in baseball twice, womens basketball, softball, and volleyball. Typical hokie fan thinking the only sports they play are football and basketball.

wut r u talking about we arent bringing in recruits? u r an idiot, tyrod taylor #

wut r u talking about we arent bringing in big recruits? u r an idiot. tyrod taylor #1 dual threat qb prospect 2 yrs ago, ryan williams #2 rb coming in this year, #18 recruiting class last year. we're stacked at linebacker recruits neway. we had like 7 players drafted this yr, i'd say that's pretty good recuruiting/coaching. we're gonna kick the crap out of maryland when they come to blacksburg this year

Let us take a look at VT's classes over the years...
2008 - 20th in the nation, 5 4-star recruits
2007- 25th in the nation, 1 5-star recruit, 5 4-star
2006- 31st in the nation, 5 4-star recruits
2005- 18th in the nation, 5 4-star recruits
2004- 26th in the nation, four 4 star recruits
2003- 21st in the nation, four 4-star recruits
2002- 45th in the nation, one 4-star recruit

So over the past 7 years VT has had one 5 star recruit commit to Virginia Tech, while other teams like LSU get 2 or 3 a year. Virginia Tech hasn't had a top 15 class in the last 7 years, and USC has gotten more 4 star recruits in the last 2 years then VT has in the last 7 years...

Another thing is that Vt has there best coach of all-time right now Buzz Beamer and he's gonna retire in the next 5 years. How bad is your recruiting going to be after he leaves?

So as you can see VT has made several BCS bowls in the last few years, yet they still have been dominated by Recruiting power houses over the past few seasons...

...And in this corner, weighing in at THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY SIX POUNDS...Ralph Friedgen's HEAD!

Well think what you want, but VT is only 1 of 3 schools to have 10 wins in each of the last 4 seasons. Other two are texas and usc. We have made it our job to take 3 star recruits and win conference championships.

Vanderbilt could win the ACC

VT is the most overrated program in all of sports...

They haven't beaten a talented team since LSU in 2002
