New contract for Davidson coach

Davidson's men's basketball team will have two new faces on its coaching staff, but the man at the top isn't going anywhere for a while. Bob McKillop, who led the Wildcats to the Elite Eight last season and is the school's winningest coach, is expected to sign a multi-year extension with the school, possibly within the week. McKillop and Davidson College President Tom Ross have been negotiating an extension since April, when the Wildcats completed a 29-7 season with a two-point loss to eventual national champion Kansas.

This was a no-brainer. Coach McKillop has done a fine job at Davidson. Even before he had Stephen Curry.

Report Offensive CommentThis team will definitely win their regular season championship and tournament championship in their league. They have a shot at the final four if Curry stays healthy and their youth influx produces.

Report Offensive CommentThis is smart on the school's part. Another season like last year and they should be good again this year and there will be a number of teams looking at him. This new contract will make that a little tougher for him to leave and other teams to buy his contract out.
