Chacon may file grievance
A day after Shawn Chacon was suspended indefinitely for shoving general manager Ed Wade to the ground, the Astros requested waivers Thursday for the purposes of releasing the veteran righthander. If he clears waivers by Monday, the club plans to terminate the remaining portion of his one-year, $2 million contract without pay. Chacon, who told the Chronicle on Wednesday that he knew he would not return to the Astros, directed all questions Thursday to his agent, Dan Horwits. If Chacon isn't claimed off waivers, he is poised to file a grievance against the club through the players' association.

Still thinking the Yankees might show interest after how he helped the team in 2005. But how much baggage it will bring is it worth it?

I can't believe this guy thinks he has been treated unfairly for being released after grabbing his GM by the neck and throwing him to the floor. Even more sad than that, the PA is more than likely going to side with him on it.

File a grievance? -- What a joke, I think assault charges should be filed against him....If I grabbed my boss by the neck and threw him down, it's a safe bet that I wouldn't have grounds to file anything....BTW, the players association should tell him to STFU and get lost...

You grabbed your GM by the neck and threw him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chacon I know you cannot be that stupid to file a grievance. LOL what a joke this guy is. Normally when you do something like that you get put behind bars by the person you did it to.

I'd like to file a grievance with Shawn Chacon. Chacon, next time you attempt to beat the crap out of Ed Wade you need to finish the job.

Another example of how out of control players and their logic is. First Michael Vick goes to prison and wants to keep on getting paid, then Barry can't figure out why no team wants a resident ahole. And now this, after assaulting your boss, you shouldn't worry about the money, you should worry about going to jail!

Chacon's new name is SHOVEcon... the guy is a complete idiot and he sucks...As an Astro's fan i'm glad he is leaving he wasn't happy about being moved to the Bull Pena nd wouldn't to be traded to somewhere where he could start well i've got a news flash for you SHOVEcon if you can;t even start for the Astros who have one of the worst Pitching staff's in the MLB this year than I'm more than sure that you won't start anywhere else...Best Astro's pitchers ERA 4.77(Roy Oswalt)....PATHETICCCCCCCCCC

Best Astros ERA is Wandy Rodriguez at 2.58. Threw 8 shut out innings last night with 9 K's. Only has 50+ innings so far though. I hope this is a motivator for my boys, but I can't imagine Runelvys Hernandez taking the mound against the Sox today is going to be great.
