Jagr's Rangers return unlikely
It is becoming increasingly likely that Jaromir Jagr has played his last game as a Ranger, if not in the NHL. For while No. 68's agent, Pat Brisson, told The Post yesterday that Jagr would prefer to sign a new contract with the Rangers in lieu of reaching unrestricted free agency on Tuesday, he made it clear the winger is seeking a multi-year deal GM Glen Sather doesn't seem willing to offer.

Finally Slats is doing the right thing! Even the great Jagr isn't worth a multi-year deal at this stage of his career!

Neither is Sundin I hope they don't make a splash for him.
They have to get someone though at RW. And Hossa isn't the answer.

Why not Hossa Otherone...compared to Jagr or getting Sundin?

It's going to have to be him it looks like. I'm just not happy about it.

I'm also down for rebuilding and going after Kovalchuk but that's no guarantee. I'm just mad Hossa is going to demand so much money. Good thing they raised the cap.

Hossa in New York is very likely and scary as a Pens fan! I hope Hossa goes to Vancouver if he doesn't resign so the Pens won't have to worry about him!

Hossa would look good in the blue-shirts,but i'm thinking that any team that wants him will have to blow away the competition or he'll sign in Pittsburgh.
Jagr will cave in to the cash that the Russians are dangling. He's not coming back. How much cap space does that free up?

He was only on the books for 5million last season (which is why I will never understand the crying by Ranger fans that he's not worth it). He would want more though, so that frees up a lot of cap space. Straka was making 3.3mill and Shanny and Malik 2.5. I see all those players going, so that's room to make a few big moves.

Jaromir, go back to the Penguins. You can still have a 90+ point season playing with Sidney Crosby.

Jagr cannot stand that he is no longer a top 5 player in the league. For some reason it threatens his manhood.

Time waits for no one, YODA. Not even Jagr! It's hard for these guys to come to terms with their own mortality after they've been on top for so long. Some guys just can't handle it.

Agreed DC. Thats what makes them dangerous though. The will to battle and still say "i am still here, and i will not go quietly!!"

I'd take Jagr on my team any day. Slap him with Savard and watch out. I wouldnt doubt it if he potted 40+ goals and hit double digits in the play-offs. I'd offer him a 4.5 per year for 2 years. Lets go JJ,come play with the Bruins!!

Our line-up if he came to the Bruins:
Lucic-Savard-Jagr
Sturm-Bergeron-Kobasew
Schaefer-Krejci-Kessel
Reich-Sobotka-Thornton
Looks good....make it happen bruins!!!

Hmmmmm...... Hossa in Boston? Maybe, but I'd rather see him in Montreal. I think his style of game is a better fit. As for Jagr, please retire already or go and play in Russia! He is too old to be making these demands. I have to applaud Sather for not giving into fatso Avery and sour puss Jagr's demands! Much Respect!

Boston is "supposedly" one of his destinations. We'd have to move some salary though to make that work. Your club on the other hand already has the cap space to make a serious pitch for him. I hope he doesnt come to the northeast division if we cant get him.
