The Pitt football program received a verbal commitment today from Jack Lippert, a defensive end from Central Dauphin High School near Harrisburg. At 6 feet 3, 245 pounds, Lippert, who will be a senior this fall, chose the Panthers over Boston College. He is Pitt's fourth verbal commitment from the high school Class of 2009, joining running back Dion Lewis and linemen Cory King and Juantez Hollins.

Pitt is so close to turning the corner...I hope this is the year they make a run at the Big East Title even though the conference is going to be tough this year with WVU, South Florida, and Rutgers.

wow wannstache must be handing out some pretty sweet cars to get all these kids to go to PITT, the campus is garbage, they play to 1/8 filled stadium and have some hideous looking girls..what a joke.

Every year we hear about all of the 4 and 5 star recruits that Pitt has landed. We have heard every year that this will the be year that Pitt goes to a bowl game. When Pitt doesn't do so good, Wannstache blames it on rebuilding. Pitt has a horrible fan base. They average about 30,000 people at their home games, including games against their rivals. If you take a close look at the recruits, Wannstache can get the kids who live close to Pitt, but when it comes to recruiting in the South, Pitt has a problem. Yes, I have been impressed with Wannstache!

Lippert is a good pick up for the Panthers. I hope that he still says that Pitt is It on LOI day. With Wannstedt's first recruiting class being Juniors/Redshirt Sophomores, Pitt will be a contender in the Big East this year. Hail to Pitt!

Penn State will probably lock him up before signing day.
