Flames undecided on waived trio

Rhett Warrener, Marcus Nilson and Anders Eriksson all went unclaimed through waivers, but Calgary Flames general manger Darryl Sutter said the team still hasn't decided what to do with the trio, and that talking buyout is premature. Although the buyout window ends early next week, Sutter says an extension is possible. Putting the trio on regular waivers -- not unconditional waivers, which is necessary to start the buyout process -- served a couple of purposes, according to the Flames GM. One is to gauge interest from other teams. It's also a statement Sutter is making to his players.

I'd keep Rhett Warrener and cut the other two loose.

Report Offensive CommentIf I where any of those 3 players, I'd run as far away as possible from that idiot of a coach they have.

Report Offensive CommentCan you believe the Flames traded Chris Drury for Rhett Warrener? Now, don't get me wrong. He's an OK D-man but, Chris Drury? One of the worst trades Calgary's made!
The knock on Rhett is that he's too brittle. He's spent an awful lot of time on the injury list. Kind of like Martin Havlat, you hit him, he gets hurt! Not good for a D-man!
As far as Marcus Nilson and Anders Eriksson, they're useless baggage and expendable. Neither one lived up to expectations. They were hoping to get some scoring out of Nilson. Didn't happen. He's also injury prone.
Anybody willing to take a chance on Rhett, might end up with a decent D-man for a few years. His luck is bound to turn. He's a good Saskechewan boy!

Report Offensive CommentThats how McLaren was for the B's. Forever getting injured. They shipped him to the Sharks and he has been healthy. Strange how it works sometimes. the cliche "he needs a change of scenery" is valid. Sometimes thats exactly the case.

I was going to comment on the story, however I am distracted by Sutter's picture. Where the heck are his teeth? Scary!
