Now that the Bulls have selected Derrick Rose with the top pick in the draft, general manager John Paxson can move on to the next item on his to-do list. Paxson said he hopes to hire the assistants for new coach Vinny Del Negro within the next few days. He also will begin contract talks with the agents for Ben Gordon and Luol Deng when the NBA's free-agent market officially opens Tuesday.

i don't think either one will ever fulfill anywhere near the promise that has been expected. i say move them along with hinrich, for some vet leadership that actually has some talent.

What happend to Luol Deng? He was the toast of the town last offseason

June 28, 2008  09:31 AM ET

Bulls need to make several moves to clear out the underperformers and the dead weight. Deng, Hinrich, Gordon, Nocioni and Gooden would all bring back value.

June 28, 2008  09:35 AM ET

deng had injuries he is worth keeping and signing a decent deal for

let gordon walk for nothing ( wont be able to sign and trade as no one will pay big money for a ballhog who cant defend)

trade hinrich (he has some value) with a big man to upgrade at PF

June 28, 2008  10:33 AM ET

Keeping Deng is the bigger priority among the two players. Gordon is far more replaceable and demands way too much.

June 28, 2008  11:48 AM ET

Gordon is outta here. End of story. He says he will not play for less than$10 million, and Reinsdorf isn't going to pay him that type of money.

June 28, 2008  12:01 PM ET

Gordon is a MORON......
by not taking the deal he was offered in the past- he lost MILLIONS that he will never re-coup

He is a fantastic back-up 2 guard
He can score....but is WAY too small to bring your team to a championship

He is Vinnie Johnson........without a teamfull of hall of famers to cover for him

June 28, 2008  12:02 PM ET

Deng is comparable to Richard Jefferson......
Good solid role guy.
Can score, run play D.
But NOT a franchise caliber palyer to build around......
he is a 'piece' not a foundation.

He will be signed & dealt.

I love gordon's offensive ability, and i would keep him just for that. As far as for ten million a year, sorry not worth that, for the simple fact he's not that well of a defender! Plus he's too undersized, and other guys have such a field day when he's guarding them. So if they can't sign him for less then ten million then he's pretty much out of here. They got enough guards to cover that position. Oh and by the way, TRADE HINRICH OVERRATED *** PLEASE! That would just make my day to see him outta here finally!

June 28, 2008  12:11 PM ET

1 or the other, they cant sign both

June 28, 2008  12:21 PM ET

I say get rid of both of them if you can. They both are overrated

June 28, 2008  12:21 PM ET

keep deng , let gordon go , hes a self centered tool

June 28, 2008  01:13 PM ET

The only time I remember the Bulls paying so much money to a player was when they had this guy named Jordan.

June 28, 2008  02:27 PM ET

Jordan, Gordon......nevermind.

June 28, 2008  03:53 PM ET

keep Deng, and if they cant get a decent trade for Gordon then let him go

June 28, 2008  04:22 PM ET

they should trade em both and get elton brand back lol

June 28, 2008  04:36 PM ET

The Bulls need to part ways with Gordon. If they can get something back for him then they should consider that an added bonus. I would love to see Brand come back to the Bulls, but since the Clippers just got a Gordon of their own I don't see it happening.

June 28, 2008  05:22 PM ET

You got to think neither will get 10 million a year, after what happen last year. How could they turn down 5yr 50million.

June 28, 2008  05:23 PM ET

I hear their keeping Deng & letting Gordon go.

June 28, 2008  10:39 PM ET

The best thing that the Bulls can do is sign Deng, trade Gordon
Gordon's to small to play SG and too out of position at Point (plus with Rose)
Trade Bulls/Knicks/Nuggets
Bulls - Gordon (to Knicks); Hinrich (to Nuggets)
Knicks - Malik Rose (to Nuggets); Zach Randolph and David Lee (to Bulls)
Nuggets - Linas Klieza (to Bulls); Eduardo Najera and Tony Delk (to Knicks)
New Line Ups
Bulls - Randolph, Gooden, Nocioni, Deng, Rose
Knicks - Curry, Gallinari?, Richardson, Gordon, Crawford
Nuggets - Camby, Martin/Hilario, Anthony, Iverson, Hinrich
