Robert Horry had told the Express-News that if he returned for a 17th season, he preferred that it be with the Spurs, but said there were "two or three" other teams for which he would consider playing. KRIV-TV reported that Horry said he would prefer to play in Houston if the Spurs opted not to sign him.

Robert Horry sure knows how to handle the NBA refs. Here he is seen controlling a ref into submission. In other pictures, he is seen trying to hypnotize the refs.

Go the Celts Big shot Rob!!

HORRY wants to stay in Texas to be close to his family. He has already stated he would sign for the minimum. HORRY can still play in a reserve role and defend. He doesn't play big minutes so his body has not taken the wear and tear of an NBA season.

I think he's a little past his prime

June 29, 2008  05:06 PM ET

Of Course Horry wants to stay in the LOOOOOOONNNNNNEEEEEE STAAAARRRR STATE!!!!!

We all know the only reason he wants to keep playing is to break One of Two records.
1. Winning the most Rings of any Player in NBA history. or 2 Break Parish's Record Of being the oldest player who is too senile to know when it's time to call it quits.

I hope this **** retires. At least keeping him off the Spurs gives them one less reason to hate SA. I can handle hating on Bowen, but Horry and his shinanigans must stop, at least let 'Sheed take the torch of bastardly hateable 6'11" 3-pt shooters in the playoffs

Lakers maybe? He is what the Lakers need.

June 29, 2008  07:08 PM ET

no they kicked him out already.

I had some respect for Horry until the cheap shot on Nash last year. That led to the fight, the suspensions from which hurt Phoenix much more than the Spurs. Now, I just think he's a doosh-bag.

June 29, 2008  09:59 PM ET

just let him sign with one of {your} teams and then your opinion will change when he hits a game winning shot or two

June 29, 2008  11:18 PM ET

Must be a "no news day" so they put this story in to fill the spaces. Why say that? This story was reported earlier this week here in San Antonio and is now old news.

Totally agree. Couldn't stand him on Houston, and LA, the he came to SA, made some big plays and helped them win 2 rings, so if he wants to stay, it is fine with me. They still need someone younger though alongside TIMMY!!

June 30, 2008  02:34 PM ET

spurs will resign him out of respect and with the veteran minimum.

Texasmade thinks Horry is working to the most NBA championships...ha ha ha ha ha Have you heard of Bill Russell who has 11 Championships. Horry still needs four more to tie him. Horry wants to stay because he didn't play much all season and was basically rested for the playoffs where he didn't really produce yet was paid what was it- $3.5M? Sorry Horry, it's a business and please enjoy the unemployment line!!!
