Kevin Jones went through a workout Saturday in Saline, Mich., and four NFL teams watched the running back sprint and cut just five months after major knee surgery. D.S. Ping - a physician who has been helping Jones rehabilitate his right knee - said the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions sent representatives. The Lions cut their former first-round pick in March with one year left on his contract.

I hope Jones is a top back in the NFL in the coming years, just to show "again" how much of an idiot the Matt (viagra man) Millen is.

Wasn't this a story just the other day?

Wasn't this up the other day?

June 30, 2008  07:25 AM ET

oops, that was strange

June 30, 2008  07:31 AM ET

Why would Detroit even be at the workouts? Did Millen forget that he just cut this guy? This is not how you build your team into a winner. Or even just a competitor. Unless your going for next years first pick.....this is not a fomula for success. How many years can Millan have as GM before someone gets a clue that this guy is "clue-less". Detroit, your making the Cardinals look like a stellar franchise in comparison.

I played against Jones in high school. He blew out his knee running track when he was 15. I guess it finally caught up to him. Its a shame but thats the way the game goes.

Good don't let Grant pull a Barry Foster on you guys

June 30, 2008  08:49 AM ET

The Packers need someone. The reason Grant was out there to be had to begin with was because he could not stay healthy enough to stay on the field with the Giants.

It's amazing that only 5 months after an ACL surgery, this guy seems to be in football shape. I wish him the best of luck.

And BoBo, I remember when Detroit cut him, they said they'd be willing to have him back at a lower salary if his recovery went well. But yeah, you're right. From some articles I've read Kevin Jones has taken his release personally and is working harder in rehab to show the Lions what they're missing out on.

But I agree. Millen is an idiot and if he thinks he can get Jones back, he's probably mistaken.

5 months from an ACL surgery. he could end his career if he is not careful.

June 30, 2008  10:57 AM ET

yawn....

June 30, 2008  12:06 PM ET

Someone will give him a shot.

June 30, 2008  12:41 PM ET

Chicago didn't send a rep? Chicago should've sent a rep and asked KJ if he can throw the ball too.

June 30, 2008  01:30 PM ET

Wow I'm sure he won't even consider the Lions after they cut him, unless they offer him the most $$$$.

June 30, 2008  01:54 PM ET

Hey GB, pay Grant what he is worth!

June 30, 2008  03:20 PM ET

Jones has been hurt a lot, but he is still good enough that he deserves a look......

June 30, 2008  03:51 PM ET

Kevin Jones is ripe for the picking!! Watch for Kevin playing next year for a team that is up in the stats...

June 30, 2008  06:50 PM ET

BreTT Favre was also seen working out along with Jones - hmmm !!!
