Jefferson unhappy with Bucks trade

Richard Jefferson has checked in with the Nets. He is not amused. Jefferson, traded to Milwaukee for promising 7-footer Yi Jianlian and veteran Bobby Simmons, responded via text message to Nets team president Rod Thorn. "He didn't seem very happy," said Thorn, who emphasized yesterday he had not yet spoken to Jefferson. "I spoke to his agent, I called him, texted him. I like Richard. He was here for a long time and I'm sure he still expected to be here. Unless you are the one pushing for it, it's always difficult when you are traded. You are going to a new place, have new teammates. It's hard at first."

Well it is Milwaukee and all. He can tour the beer factory from laverne and shirley. ohh he can try to find the location for that 70's show. a slightly smaller place than he was used to. Bet he handels the trade better than other players would.

he wont last long he will be traded again

June 30, 2008  06:01 AM ET

Why? He sucks too.

June 30, 2008  06:54 AM ET

And New Jersy is any better?

June 30, 2008  06:55 AM ET

Maybe I can see that butcher shop with the pig out front like in the Sorpranos. lol

It might make a pretty good improvement to have a guy who can score ont the wing with Redd. Bobby Simmons was not the answere at small forward. But Jefferson has only really had one really good year (last year) so I don't know if that was a blip or what.

June 30, 2008  08:35 AM ET

Are you kidding me? He just went from working 20 minutes from Manhatten to Laverne and Shirley Land.

Forget about Armani RJ, go to KMart and get your winter boots and Gortex jacket in stylish black.

June 30, 2008  08:42 AM ET

RJ will eventually look at the rosters and realize he's in a better situation. Bogut, Villanueva, Redd and Mo Williams should make this team a playoff contender.

June 30, 2008  09:00 AM ET

Playoff contender??? RJ played in 2 finals, so I'm sure his expectations and motivation isn't just to make playoffs. He had a great last season, but has been plagued with injuries. But the guy tries his best and gives his 100% on the court, unlike his much heralded ex-teammate that hides behind a few dunks and cheerleader skirts.
if I was RJ, I would be unhappy too; I mean MIL has a losing culture for a long years. Redd is a no show in big games. MoWil is decent, but nothing great; Vil is another Lamar in the making. Inconsistent at best; Bogut is a average player. RJ will be their best player, but east has become much better since last year and mark my words, MIL will not make the playoffs with or w/o RJ.

yeah pimp out the Vista-Cruzer. Kick it Milwaukee style. LOL

June 30, 2008  09:35 AM ET

soounds like that old TV show "Green Acres"

June 30, 2008  09:42 AM ET

Yeah, its hilarious that people seem to forget that the Meadowlands in NJ is a 20 minute train ride from downtown Manhattan...

June 30, 2008  09:45 AM ET

I'm not knocking Milwaukee but to go from being a short train or car ride from New York City and all of the nightlife we have here to Milwaukee would be culture shock. Especially for someone like Jefferson who was a regular in the clubs.

June 30, 2008  09:47 AM ET

I don't care if you are happy or not.
You are a player.
You are making MILLIONS..........GUARANTEED
Shut up and give 100%

June 30, 2008  09:47 AM ET

The really fun thing is that these clowns actually think their permission is needed to send them where the teams want.

Sorry RJ, we all know that you would have preferred LA so you can pursue outside interests easier.

Forget silliness like an acting career or something like a rap record company. Have you ever considered owning a dairy farm? How about a bratwurst plant?

June 30, 2008  09:50 AM ET

And I'm not hating on Milwaukee either!

I've changed planes at their airport many times and can say I LOVE the way they have those beer stands all over the place and plenty-o-restrooms too!

If the rest of that burg hums like those beer stands it sure sounds like a destination location to me!

Poor Richard Jefferson...he's going to get paid millions of dollars to play basketball. I feel so sorry for him
