The more Hideki Okajima struggles, the more the Red Sox might show interest in Colorado closer Brian Fuentes. In his last seven games, Okajima has allowed six runs on 13 hits in six innings. Over his last 10 appearances, he's yielded 10 runs, sending his ERA from 0.72 to 3.21. Fuentes, who is eligible for free agency this fall, has drawn interest from at least five teams: the Sox, Yankees, Mets, A's, and Phillies.

My God, how many Red Sox blogs can there be in one day?

June 30, 2008  04:00 PM ET

W T F.... three Red Sox threads.... how confusing! Kind of breaks up the team, doesn't it?

June 30, 2008  04:00 PM ET

There appears to be no end in sight. What is with all these afternoon stories getting posted?

June 30, 2008  04:03 PM ET

Slow baseball day I guess. Why not talk about something meaningful like how the World Champion Sox are gonna kick the Rays arses.

June 30, 2008  04:05 PM ET

Imagine that. The Yanks, Mets and Sox are all looking at the same player. That hardly ever happens.

June 30, 2008  04:05 PM ET

noles - Do you mean physically, or on the scoreboard?

June 30, 2008  04:09 PM ET

On the scoreboard of course. Our fighter is away on suspension, Manny only beats up team mates and the elderly and Tek only beats up on A-Rod.

June 30, 2008  04:09 PM ET

What about the Cubs? They look at every player.

June 30, 2008  04:10 PM ET

Very true........and Tavarez is gone now, right?

Fuentes will be dealt, and the Rockies are going to score big in exchange. A good pitching prospect will end up in Denver for this guy.

June 30, 2008  05:41 PM ET

Fuentes could help the Cardinals, but I doubt they'll be in the running
