Given the Cavs won't be winning a title over the next two seasons, there's no possible way James sticks around. While I'd love for him to wind up with the Knicks, the Nets might wind up being a better fit. Nets have to make it to Brooklyn first, though.

IF he leaves and that's a big IF, he would go to a team that actually has a shot to win something. Not to chase mythical advertising dollars or save new york basketball.

just like i said if the cavs don't get Lebron a legit #2 option before the close of the next season.....lebron is going to bounce. its a shame too the cavs are just that one player away from a championship. the cavs are a championship defensive caliber team with arguably the best player in the game. the lure of the big city is great but ultimately i think lebron just wants to be with a franchise that will give him the best chances to win and keep winning. not sure if cavs management is willing to do that

Cry your eyes out cavs fans. You know Lebron is already thinking about leaving and unless there is a major turnaround, he is gone. How can anyone blame him? The only help he has on that team is Daniel Gibson. The cavs big mid-season addition was Ben Wallace...If he had any help at all, they would have beat the celtics in game 7. I'm a big nets fan, I cannot wait until 2010.

its a reality that he could leave. we just witnessed with the celts that a turnaround can happen in just 1 season. they went from last to first. not saying that its easy to do but i think with a talent like lebron if you can pair him up with another legit superstar that team automatically becomes a contender

If Lebron really wanted out wouldn't he just demand a trade this off season and get out of Cleveland if it was so bad and he so desperatley wanted to play in New York. If the Cavs had no chance and sucked so bad as every genius on these boards tries to yap about, why would he still be in Cleveland. If he wanted to be in New York so bad, wouldn't he be up on a soapbox screaming to be traded? Is he doing that? New York, get over it, if Lebron wanted to be there, he would have been already...I love how the media totally overblows him knowing what a burough is into Lebron is going to the nets. Just because Lebron doesnt demand a trade doesnt mean he's going to stay in Cleveland..... In fact I think he's happy there, for the moment. His team doesnt suck, but they are not title contenders without getting Lebron more help. He's got the money, he plays in his home state, and his team are in the playoffs every year. If he wanted to play in NYC right now I doubt this guy would demand a trade out of there, cause he doesnt have it bad right now. But when the guy hits the market, things will change. Then it will be his right to go wherever he pleases, and that may very well be the Nets. The guy loves NY no doubt and you Cavs fans are in denial cause this has a very real shot at happening...

New York-area people, here's a newsflash. The earth revolves around the sun, not New York. It is not the center of the universe. You incessantly think every star athlete wants to play there. They don't.

And even if LeBron ends up there, so what? He guarantees nothing for either of your sad basketball teams. You have A-Rod on the Yanks. How many World Series rings has he won? Zero, and that's with the game's biggest payroll every year.

You have one of the best left sides of the infield ever on the Mets, and one of the game's best pitchers. When did the Mets last win the Series?

As for the Giants, they deserved their win. But you know it was unexpected, and not because of one superstar.
