The Philadelphia 76ers were prepared to make an offer to Antawn Jamison with the $11 million in salary cap space they have available for the upcoming season, according to a source familiar with the situation. However, Jamison said he never seriously questioned whether his agent, Arn Tellem, and the Wizards would reach an agreement.

After Jamison just signed I believe it won't be long before Arenas re-signs. He's not leaving the Wizards.

Jamison is good but I just don't think his unorthodox 3/4 game translate to championships. I would spend my money caustiously.

Jamison did the right thing and signed with the Wizards. 6ers can now try to get BRAND

I'm glad Jamison signed with the Wizards. He's a good fit for that team. Too bad the Wizards are prepared to ruin the franchise by dumping 100 million into injury prone Gilbert Arenas. My prediction for next year...Wizards lose again in the first round to the Cavs.

If I was a GM, I'd like this guy on my team.

I'd be amazed if the Sixers could land Brand, as a Sixers fan. They've never been big with free agent signings, but with all that cap room they better at least try. If you ask me, Jamison isn't the kind of player the Sixers need. This year they showed how they really like to run the floor, which is something Jamison doesn't do well, but neither does Brand for that matter. Jamison just wouldn't have been a good fit, as good as he is.

Brand will not go anywhere but LA or Miami....he's made that clear to anyone who's asked him where he'd like to sign his next contract.

July 1, 2008  01:05 PM ET

That would have been a great move for Philadelphia, unfortunately, Jamsion resigned with Washinton. Jamison would have been a better fit in Philadelphia then Elton Brand would have been.

Jamison equals classy production night in and out. I bet every other team wants him.

July 1, 2008  03:02 PM ET

jamison is an all round good player good choice wizards

July 1, 2008  03:19 PM ET

Philly needs to go after Josh Smith expeditiously.

July 1, 2008  09:08 PM ET

I miss the Bullet's...lol....

Jamison is Talented..no doubt but he's a small 4...
and these guys cant get out the first round as it is... why pay more money for the same product? Reminds me of filling up my tank at the gas station... going just as far as before..only costs twice as much... boo... blow that squad to smithereens would be my move as a GM...lol..or I'd a let arenas and jamison bounce.... then I'd have chased ATL'S J. Smith EB and Davis...detroit wants to trade up too

just sayin a hundred million buys alot more good players than one who is a wierdo in a oxygen tent that apparently doesnt keep you from riding the pine most of the year...

July 1, 2008  10:07 PM ET

A step down from true stardom, Jamison is.

July 1, 2008  10:07 PM ET

...a big step down
