Veteran Stars center Mike Modano said Monday that he has talked with organization officials recently about criticisms that his fiancee's, entertainer Willa Ford, directed at the team's management and coaching staff in an Internet interview last month. Among what Ford told ESPN.com: There was friction among the coaches; the team needed to acquire better wingers to play with Modano; and stripping him of the captaincy before last season was classless.

What a wuss, how many times is the league and the media going to glorify the wives of these sissies and put a black mark on hockey players as a whole. The only bigger sissy in the league is Chris Pronger for moving out of Edmonton because his wife didn't like the city, I'll bet she makes 5 million a year right? The only thing Mike Madano is good for is a punching bag at the women's boxing club.

Once again Willa opens her mouth and something bad comes out. Maybe something should go in it instead. Willa, how's that new record coming along? Ditto on the W.G.A.S...

For the record, Prongers mistress just had the baby a cpl months ago.. no ****!

I agree Modanos wife really shouldnt be talkin like that, not smart... She needs to keep her mouth shut when it comes to **** like this... But c'mon Modano is one of, if not, the best american players to ever play the game. Stripping him of the Captain in place of morrow was classless.. no doubt about it.. somebody had to say it.

"Modano Explains Wife's Most Recent Criticisms"

Adding to the turmoil that ensued once Willa Ford criticized the Stars Organization, Modano revealed today that she hasn't stopped there. Sources close to the former captain have reported that she has moved on to critcize the size of his manhood, as well as his prowess between the sheets. "I love my wife, and this is something we will work through. I mean, once she criticized the friction between the coaches, I thought she was done. Who would have thought she'd criticize the friction I fail to produce." It is not yet known whether Ford will divorce the hockey star, though it is well known she would rather see more intensity from him both on and off the nice. "Look at Bertuzzi," Ford told ESPN.com. "He hit that guy from behind like a wild rhino. Imagine what could go on between us."

If I had only used 'fiancee' instead of 'wife' while writing that, I would have actually enjoyed it myself. Dam.

June 5, 2007  05:11 PM ET

Modano should head-butt Ford and send her on her way.

June 5, 2007  05:16 PM ET

You guys are all awesome. Without Modano, the NHL wouldn't be what it is today. He is the greatest American born player. And Jordin Tootoo...lets talk about a P*S*Y! I guess only cool guys sucker punch people when they aren't looking!

June 5, 2007  07:16 PM ET

whalen2, you know nothing. When did Tootoo sucker someone who wasn't looking? watch the footage, dink. Modano being stripped of the captaincy is a slap in the face of a guy who has spent his entire career with one team, and there is nothing wrong with believing it was classless (though I have to say it was likely the right move, he really hasn't been much of a leader). Still, you trade awaay a captain, you never strip him...look at Sundin in toronto. Willa Ford shouldn't say things like she said, but does anyone really believe that she has any idea what she is talking about anyway?

June 5, 2007  09:53 PM ET

Who is Willa Ford?
And what makes her an authority on running a hockey organization?

June 5, 2007  10:37 PM ET

Haha goCanada called someone a dink. I never disliked Canada but that could always nudge me that way.

Stripping a captain shouldnt be done like that...unless, as Mr. Canada mentioned...he gets traded. It is, in fact, a slap in the face. Especially to a player of Modano's stature.

June 5, 2007  11:13 PM ET

Or Modano could step up and play hard every shift. That's why he's not captain, and that's why this team is one and done in the playoffs every year.
