Brett Favre has spoken - in a way - on the report of him wanting to come back and play. Favre texted messages to the Biloxi Sun Herald saying "It's all rumor" and, in regards to the sudden media explosion on the subject, "No reason for it."

A rumor that will not DIE!

July 3, 2008  05:45 AM ET

This is crazy! If I was the Packers I would not let him come back. A. Rodgers is going to be mentally screwed up because of this.

Read DEVO's BLOG on this......DOH!! I told you SOOooooohhhhh.

July 3, 2008  06:23 AM ET

Brett is coming back. The NFL needs a feel good story after the Labor agreement news, the Patriots cheating, the Cowboys going after every criminal in the league (not to mentions countless worthless T&R postings), rookie salaries, half the players getting arrested, etc.

If the Packers don't want him they should do the honorable thing and release him so he can go to a team like Denver, KC, Baltimore, Minn, and make them instant SB contenders.

Man-baby has changed his mind again. Let him come back and get a Theisman on his leg. What a freaking idiot. He was not a good thinking QB anyway, he just got ALL the snaps and HE STILL wants ALL the snaps. ou play long enough....you set records....plain and simple. Reggie White was the leader of that team in the SB years. That is the scoop......

July 3, 2008  06:34 AM ET

stay retired....

July 3, 2008  06:51 AM ET

His last throw was an intercepetion... of course he wants to come back.

One more year Brett and bring the Superbowl Trophy home to were it belongs (Wisconsin).

July 3, 2008  07:08 AM ET

He says everything's a rumor; I wouldn't be surprised if this is true.

July 3, 2008  07:21 AM ET

This is getting really stupid, really quickly. He may have said it's just a rumor, but I don't believe him. This would've been the perfect opportunity for him to 100% deny it and stay retired. At this point, it's just becoming a selfish, ego-maniacal process for him. I'm sure there's plenty of people (John Madden anyone?) that are **** their pants right now, but I for one wish he would just stay retired.

i wish they gave brett farve the old yeller treatment.

July 3, 2008  07:28 AM ET

Don't do it Brett.....

July 3, 2008  07:53 AM ET

Is he related to Mark Martin?

He's done, and even with him no chance of SB.....enjoy life
outside of football Bret!

He proves once again he is selfish.

July 3, 2008  08:09 AM ET

How come I feel like it will be week 8 of the NFL season and the media will stay be talking about rumors that Brett Farve wants to come back.

July 3, 2008  08:11 AM ET

I am only commenting that this is a waste to comment to. Therefore, I have no comment.

July 3, 2008  08:13 AM ET

Ahh geez...not this again!

FoF,

You are as dumb as they get. I don't think you could get any dumber if you worked at it. Thank you for setting a bad example for others.
