I preferred the Ambassador. The car had front seats that folded down to the back seats making a big bed. Great for the drive-ins. (man I am showing the years on that comment).

I had a 76 Honda Accord that I put 3" foam padding in the back...straight up mobile porn palace. Pop the hatch at the drive-in (Highway 39) and it was ON!!! I think I had the Ambassador as a drivers Ed car.

Maybe the owner can swing a sponsorship deal with Campbells Soup....he could run the Alphabet Soup #28 Ford and borrow some vowels!

BAM is also looking at the money they can make at Indy. Last place money at the Brickyard is more than some top 5 finishes at some tracks.

Yup...Beach and Trask. When it was four screens and the one exit road was lined with empty 12 packs. Now it's a &*%$#& shopping center!!!

Switching back from Toyota will do nothing to gain sponsorship. Look at the non-Toyota teams that can't get full time sponsorship now.

The 4 team shut down because they couldn't get sponsorship for this season. The 40 team shut down because they couldn't get sponsorship with a former IRL and Indy 500 champion. The 27 team didn't even make a race and shut down after failing to make the Daytona 500 with a former World Champion and Indy 500 winning driver. Only one of those teams was a Toyota team. The 37 team shut down after only a couple weeks. That was suposed to be a 2 car team, 37 and 34 cars. The 34 car did not attempt a race earlier this season due to a lack of sponsorship.

What about the other teams with sponsorship issues. There is the 28, your name here Yates Racing Ford. The 45, who will drive this week Dodge, the Robby Gordon Motorsports Dodge (unsponsoered many races).

Right now there are no less than 3 full time teams in and 2 top 35 teams lacking a full time sponsorship for the season. We have numberous other teams that are having week to week sponsors on their machines.

Kodiak, If decent top 35 in points teams that don't have Toyota's can't find sponsorships, how can it be assumed that switching from a Toyota to anything else will bring in a sponsor?

Yup!! Lst time I went home on leave I swung by and just shook my head. I took popcorn and a 12 pack of Natty Light into the TV dept and relived some old memories. LOL!

Why does everyone hate foregin makes in NASCAR...the sport is growing and there's new drivers, more money, etc. I agree it may be getting a little too much for the sport or the sport may be getting too big for it's own good, but why does everyone hate the foreign makes so much?
