Hernandez-Reyes exchange words

Jose Reyes and Keith Hernandez had to be separated on the Mets New York Mets ' charter plane Sunday night after a tense confrontation over Hernandez's critical comments about the All-Star shortstop. A team source described the situation aboard the plane as "very heated." One player told The Post that he thought Reyes and the popular former Met - now an analyst for the club's SNY TV network - were close to exchanging punches until others stepped in.

Reyes would kick Hernandez's arse.

Report Offensive CommentI still cannot get over what a pompous **** Hernandez is when doing Mets games on SNY. Think about his track record with on-air comments, the worst of which were his sexist comments/protests about the female staff member in the San Diego clubhouse last year during a Mets-Padres series. He continually rips players apart from both the Mets and their opponents like no one else. Reyes certainly could improve himself on more than one front, but I'll take him over Hernandez any day. SNY is an excellent objective sports network that I respect far more than the Yankee propaganda machine YES. But Hernandez is the one sore spot for SNY. Criticizing players is part of the job, but he takes it to a classless, arrogant degree.

Report Offensive CommentMex has seen Reyes before in his previous incarnation as Gary Templeton. He knows his Cards team didnt win despite Templeton's stats and limitless potential until they unloaded him for a real team player in Ozzie Smith. Trust the Mex...Oh and I'm sure he would have creamed Reyes.

Report Offensive CommentI heard Reyes slammed his glasses and glove down before they were ready to brawl. My money is on Hernandez. Reyes is a little baby.

Report Offensive CommentSo is he gonna argue with another player in the 2020's? I mean he fought and argued with Strawberry in the 80's and then now.

Report Offensive CommentIt was a childish act by Reyes. You can either call a game as you see it, or be the teams paid cheerleader. The players want a cheerleader and apologist from the teams announcers, when they do not get it, they respond. I would rather have an announcer that calls what he sees and says what he thinks. Even when they get it wrong.
It sounds like Reyes' friends are more like a bunch of celebrity coat hangers..

Report Offensive CommentBout time soem one said something to the little brat. Reyes needs to forget when the NY press proclaimed him the heir and present king to the shortstop throne in NY.

Report Offensive CommentReyes the talented player around which to build a team is fast becoming Reyes the clubhouse cancer. Would the Mets be a better team without him at short? Probably not, but this could be a slippery slope.

Report Offensive CommentReyes is softer than tissue paper. This kid has unlimited talent, but his dedication has been questioned by everyone, not just Hernandez. It is time for this kid to shut up and play the game. I remember him spouting off about being the best SS in New York. What a joke. he couldn't carry Jeter's jockstrap on or off the field.

Report Offensive CommentReyes should be a bit more mature in his 5th MLB season. Hernandez has no excuse. Wonder if he was thinking of his free wheeling partying days in St Louis.
