Unrestricted free agent center Brendan Morrison will not re-sign with the Vancouver Canucks, The Province has learned. At one point, seven teams expressed interest in Morrison and a source indicated that the 32-year-old Pitt Meadows native is expected to sign a multi-year deal elsewhere and reject a one-year, $1.9-million offer from the Canucks.

Memo from Canucks to Morrison - get a hircut and strighten you tie. Then we'll talk.

Never lived up to the expectations Vancouver had for him, being traded for Mogilny and all! Must have been tough coming into that kind of situation.

Still, he was a 20-25 goal scorer. I think he Oilers would go after him but ..... they already have enough players his size (5'10" 180 lbs). That's the knock on him.

Pssstt, Canucks! Bertuzi is available!

I agree bostongm, they do not have much scoring power up front. They just picked up Bernier and a bunch of third liners, but that's not gonna help...
The problem has been laggering for years now and nothing gets done. Hell, I coul be a GM too in this case....

I'd still like Morrisson to take a few of my crucial face-offs though, no? He used to be good at that.

BostonGm Nailed this one to the stake!

As Lowe and everybody else knows, Burke stripped that team, and they need a big rebuilding phase! I heard they were already lookign forward to Jonathan Taveras Next year!

Morrison would look good in an Avalanche Uniform, but that seems to be our motto this year, pick up over rated players. Tucker! RAYCROFT!

Good Luck Gillis, you have one steep mountain to climb with this team!

A shirt and tie, he always wears under his jersey.

Always two there are.

At last something that's not about the no new developments in the Mats Sundin situation that if i have to read about one more time I'm gonna puke up bald aged up swedish hockey players !

But at the same time does anyone give a steamy pile what the hell Brendan Morrison is doing ?
What ever team he ends up with he will have a minamal effect in sure.

Could you possibly see Morrison as a role player in a Winged Wheel? There's salary space. Maltby, Draper, and Morrison? Think of the possibilities.

July 7, 2008  12:06 PM ET

Canucks need less players like Morrison, Naslund and the sisters and more like Burrows, Kessler and Raymond.

Of course I hope they trade the latter 3 and keep the little softies.
