The Blue Jackets might not be done with free agency yet. Center Michael Peca, who played for the Jackets last season, is negotiating contract terms with the club, The Dispatch has learned. General manager Scott Howson would not comment on the report yesterday, but Peca said by phone from Buffalo, N.Y., that he hopes to return. "I'd like at least a two-year deal," Peca said. "I'd like to grow and be a part of something, not just a short-term piece." The Blue Jackets, NHL sources say, want Peca back to help fortify a weak spot on the roster and to help young captain Rick Nash.

Tired so soon of being a Rent-A-Player? That's what happens when you chase the cash, you have to have your bags packed at all times. Yeah! It would get tiresome! Should've stayed in Edmonton, you bum! They would've signed you to a 2-3 year deal if you didn't get so greedy, even though you didn't do much during the regular season!

I was always a big Peca fan. Loved his open ice hits as a young player and I always liked his efforts in the playoffs.

But I cannot forgive him for leaving Deadmonton. I think that hurt them almost as much as losing Pronger.
