Holes in PGA drug testing?

Posted: Sunday July 06, 2008 09:14AM ET

PGA and LPGA officials said that they would not make public the number of players who have been tested, or even if players have been tested. But the PGA Tour reserved the right to screen players at will - it will test at tournaments and outside of competition; the LPGA will do so only at tournaments - and predicts that the policy will reveal no cheating. Medical experts believe that performance-enhancing drugs can benefit a golfer as much as any other athlete. "There are two kinds of drugs that one thinks about," says Dr. Gary Wadler of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). "One relates to driving the ball. Someone on steroids would hit the ball farther. The other end of the spectrum is putting. Beta blockers, which one could use to minimize hand tremors, might have an enhancement effect."

No, you've done it 12-15 times with the same player, you are just too stupid to remember it was the same one.

Beta blockers for hand-tremors? Is this a joke? They're going to test the Seniors tour?

SPECIAL PGA NOTE: To save on costs, Phil Mickelson will never be tested for performance-enhancing drugs. Any rational person can see that Phil have never been within 30 yards of a weight room, treadmill, or a steroid.

If the results are never announced then of course the policy will "reveal no cheating". Is this a joke?

SPECIAL PGA NOTE: No one named Tiger has to take the drug test!

They should test every sport, even bowling...
