Another impressive Clippers signing

Lost in the hoopla surrounding Golden State free agent guard Baron Davis committing to sign with his hometown Clippers last week was the Clippers' surprising signing of first-round pick Eric Gordon. The Clippers have earned a reputation for signing their first-round picks late, resulting in the players often missing summer league. But Los Angeles inked the seventh overall pick from Indiana last week. "This is where I thought I might be drafted at," said Gordon at his introductory press conference last Tuesday in Los Angeles. "It was definitely a high chance that I would be here. I know some players on the team and I am pretty familiar with them."

Look at the picture..........
Stern is like 5'8 AT THE MOST

therefore Gordon is like 6'2 at the MOST

He will NEVER be a real player in the league at that size
he will not be able to get his shot off against other 2 guards

This kid led the Big Ten in scoring on a bad team. He is a legit 6'4''. I'm not sold on him because of poor shot selection not becasue of his physical staus. I think he has the talent.....
Here is a link prblished by the NBA on height etc...

BINGO!!!

July 7, 2008  11:47 AM ET

i dont know if gordon has what it takes to be an NBA player.

July 7, 2008  12:22 PM ET

Gordon is overrated. He's basically a chunky Ben Gordon (no relation...lol)

July 7, 2008  12:24 PM ET

Gordon can spell Mobley who's older than Marriah Carrey. Hopefully, he can develop into a Ray Allen type who can shoot and drive when called upon. That was Cat's role until he got old and signed a long contract with the Clips.

I hope that they still give Livingston a shot because he can get some minutes as a backip.

July 7, 2008  12:54 PM ET

Good for the Clippers. The Knicks should have picked him, but unfortunately that team is run by a bunch of morons.

July 7, 2008  12:56 PM ET

Gordon will be a very solid pro...on overall talent and potential he is in the top 4 or 5 of the draft. That can't be argued because of his past play. Trust me, in shoes he is a legit 6'4, but he is def. not chubby at all. The dude is solid and even if he was chunky. He is a phenomenal athlete. One of the fastest guards( faster than Mayo and Rose) and a 40 inch vert. So yeah, he must be pretty chunky then...Great reasoning Riddy!

July 7, 2008  02:52 PM ET

Ouch. I just pinched myself to make sure I read that right and wasn't dreaming. But seriously the Clippers could be pretty good with Davis and Gordon. And they still could trade Livingston to fill other needs.

July 7, 2008  03:12 PM ET

Several players in the NBA manage to stay relevant and stick around regardless of the odds and their size and so on. Plus, the Clippers haven't really screwed up yet thus far. So let's give both the Clippers Org and the player the benefit of the doubt.

If Brand, Maggette and Livingston re-signs, they will give teams in the west problems
Starter Reserves

Davis Livingston Q Ross
Mobley Gordan
Maggette Thornton
Brand Thomas
Kaman Aaron Williams

Great starters, nice bench. that spells trouble

July 7, 2008  04:00 PM ET

Thats a pretty solid team...I kind of think Gordon will be the ending starter though. Mobley will be able to teach him a lot though as well as BD.

July 7, 2008  04:01 PM ET

If you sign Baron and Brand theres no way you'll stay under the cap and keep Ross and Livingston.

July 7, 2008  04:18 PM ET

I hope Baron winds up with a ring, but BB is a team sport.

He's the STEAL of the draft trust me!!! The Milwaukee Bucks ought to be asamed of themselves for not getn gordon and mark my words they will pay for this mistake for the next 10 years!!!
