Four months after he was suspended from the Indiana University football team for undisclosed reasons, junior quarterback Kellen Lewis was reinstated Monday and will report with his teammates Aug. 4 for preseason camp. IU coach Bill Lynch had said throughout Lewis' suspension that the junior had "some work to do" before he could rejoin the team. At a booster event last month in Southern Indiana, Lynch said Lewis was in good academic standing and that the suspension was not grades-related.

They raised enough money at the booster event to make the undisclosed problem 'go away'.

Hmmm, suspended in March, reinstated in July... that's how you look tough

I haven't seen a lot of specifics, but earlier comments sounde3d like the kid had some personal problems to work through (annoynig 20-somethings). Good for him and his team.

kid's a good QB, and good QB's always get the benifit of the doubt.

Four months later he's back on the team? Let's talk about a slap on the wrist for whatever he did, so much for integrity at IU, guess they never learn!

Do you know know something that nobody else does. Since you question IU integrety I'm sure you would find some nonsensicle reason true or not. It has always been true of any team, Purdue, Ohio, Minn or whoever not to publically criticize athletes. Things can really get dirty and do a young man damage. It's none of our business.

If it's none of our business, why are you even here?

good, they need him bad. he was one of three qbs last year to throw for 3000 yards and 700 yards(tebow and that guy from CMU were the others). of course last year he was throwing to hardy so well see how he does this year

July 9, 2008  04:13 AM ET

run for 700 yards i forgot that my mistake

July 9, 2008  02:39 PM ET

I have no problems letting the kid back on the team..But, if you aren't going to discuss the reason for the suspension, then why even mention it?

He was addicted to Guitar Hero and missed several team meetings and even some practices. Glad he kicked it.
