Critic won't clear air with Clemens

Kyle Farnsworth told a Chicago radio station that Roger Clemens's agreement with the Yankees, which allows him to leave the team on days he is not pitching, might cause tension. Three weeks later, with Clemens preparing to join the Yankees, Farnsworth said people took his words out of context. When they become teammates, Farnsworth said, he will not approach Clemens to clear the air.

noworth's 5.+ era speaks louder than his big mouth.

Farnsworth is a punk. But Roger should watch his back, since "Krazy Kyle" is a black belt & at times suffers from "roid rage"! Check out this dude's past!

For someone with a 98mph fastball, Fanrnsworth sucks. He can only get out Ortiz, which is why he is on the staff. I would keep him in the minors and only bring him up when the Yankees play the Red Sox.

He may not be the greatest pitcher, but I respect what this man has said. I mean, come on, everybody is thinking it. That's like having your all-star basketball player sitting in the confines of his super-amazing-rompus room when he's not playing, while the rest of his team is out there playing their **** off. That's not cool. Regardless of how 'big' you are or how much talent you have, you should be out there supporting your team. I'm a big astros fan; I wasn't for it then, and I sure as hell ain't for it now.

Thank you Mr. Farnsworth. Your pitching is questionable, but at least you have the balls to say what everybody else is thinking.

i dont believe this is a problem kyle farnsworth is not a major part of the yankees roger is a legend. he has a right to say what he feels but i dont think roger took it personal

Good for Kyle Farnsworth! At least someone in the Bronx has persepective on the Clemens travesty.

June 6, 2007  12:44 PM ET

I agree with Kyle. I say Farnsworth and Clemens should fight for it, Farnsworth wins then Clemens has to fully be part of the team, Clemens wins then he can be lazy and selfish and only travel when he wants to.

If Clemens does this, why don't all pitchers follow. They can pitch then go do whatever they want and relax till next time they pitch. That would be a great situation wouldn't it.

June 6, 2007  01:03 PM ET

If Clemens cared about this team, he'd be with them all the time, rooting them on, sharing his pitching knowledge witht the rest of the staff, and he wouldn't have waited until the Yanks were starting to sweat before he signed with them.

Farns was right, period. Doesn't matter if he's not in Clemens' class, doesn't matter if he's not doing well, he's a Yankee and he's saying what they're all thinking but too scared to say...and let's face it, I'd ventrue to say MOST players in the majors find the concessions he requests, and gets, to be ridiculous...

June 6, 2007  01:33 PM ET

Kyle Farnsworth should keep his big mouth shut, after all he only pitches for one day and they can't use him the next. And by the way, what has farnsworth done for us lately? Nothing,Nada. Last I checked Roger Clemens helped the Yankees to "2", count'em ,"2" world championships and he also won his Sixth Cy Young with the Yankees, does anyone remember Game 7 of the 2001 World Series?Clemens was "Fantastic" period, we lost but Clemens was on that night! Kyle Farnsworth was probably watching along with the rest of us that night, wishing he could be more like "THE ROCKET", anybody. "GOT ROCKET.....FUEL!

'Kyle Farnsworth should keep his big mouth shut, after all he only pitches for one day and they can't use him the next.'

That's their choice/believe...they could use him as much as they wanted...

So, you're saying, since Clemens is Mr Cy Young, he should be able to do whatever he wants? Doesn't bother you that he showed up 2 months into the season, while the Yanks were digging a hole, and will only be with the team when he pitches?

June 6, 2007  02:10 PM ET

Clemons is a fading prima donna, and its the worst move the Yunqs can make, inking a part-time player for full-time money. The Farns throws one pitch, High Heat, and has an abysmal ERA to show for it. But he is right on the money about Fat Jolly Roger, who is ,indeed, a punk. I hope Fat Roger gets lit up every outing. What a stain to a HOF career. What a team player!

June 6, 2007  02:13 PM ET

yo, loserville, 2001 was six very long seasons ago. You are pathetic to dream that Fat ,very very Fat Roger is going to change things around for the Yunquis...why not ink Nolan Ryan then, based on that idiotic rationale? A wasted season for ther Bronx Raspberries. How much dough was spent this yr to achieve mediocrity?

roger is one of the greatest pitchers ever...theres no doubt about that...but if i was a yankee i would have to agree with kyle. what roger is doing, all his special privileges would not have been tolerated on ANY ball team i have ever played on. hes taking the "team" concept and taking a big dump all over it. i almost hope he crashes and burns this year just so we never have to listen, debate, and\or care about his singings and comings and goings anylonger.
