KC's turn is coming. They have some good young pitching, and some decent young hitters. Guillen was a crappy signing, but they are gonna be in the mix soon.

Minnesota can make the playoffs. The White Sox are not that strong, and Detroit doesn't have enough pitching. Minnesota should be looking to shore up its infield. They could be tough.

I agree.....you've probably seen me post on FN before that I think KC should keep their young talent and move toward contention in the next couple of years. I think the young pitchers are strong and I think Gordon is the real deal in another year or two

The Twins should trade Livan Hernandez and get something for him. If he reaches 200+ innings the Twins have to pay him another $2 million. It is time to sell him. They should bring up another young pitcher to fill his spot.

Hasn't Livan pitched pretty well his last 4-5 starts? It would seem to me that getting rid of him now would hurt the playoff push, especially if they replaced him with a young AAA starter. No?

Trade the Astros cast-offs if someone would take them. It would be more useful to have Matt Macri and Tolbert when he's off the
DL than Lamb and Everett. I'm not sure about Livan, it would be nice to get some trade value on him and bring up Liriano, but then again he seems to be helping with the young starters development, and does have plenty of play-off experience.

If they want to make a real run at it they need some better late inning releif pitching (Bass, Crain, Reyes and Gurrier are not 8th inning pitchers). Livan Hernandez and Craig Monroe are expendable (Bring up Lariano and Span with the Twins after Cuddyer gets off the DL) and may (stress may) get a half descent reliever(s) in return.

Lamb and Everett are not worth anything. No team in their right mind would take them.

Hey Cards fan If I'm correct with the exception of the Cleveland last year, the Sox and Twins are the only teams that have won the division since 2000, in 2006 the Tigers were the wildcard

Beej, I mostly agree. Every team could use another solid reliver or two. It seems to me like the bullpen has been pretty good. The starters never go beyond the 6th or 7th inning, so to have 50 wins at this point, the pen must be doing something right. Boof would seem expendable too. Some team must need a long relief garbage man.

If the Twinkies want to shore up their infield, please take Renteria off the Tiger's hands. Why we traded a talent like Jurjens for this bottom-heavy has-been, I'll never know.

I don't think they should do anything. It's a young team that is fitting into the mold of what this team preaches, small ball. This is their best small ball team I have seen yet.

Wanted Man, the releiver I'm talking about is the guy that can handle the "big game situation". If they were to make the playoffs I would really worry between any starter leaving and Nathan coming in as it seems to be the weakest point. If they can find some help in the pen they are in an even better position to hold their own down the stretch.

And for Boof, I am looking at a similar deal they made for Ramon Ortiz and Jeff Cirillo.

hitman your're right about the Sox and Twins taking turns until last year. The surprise of it is in your second post. They lost Santana, Hunter, Liriano and Silva yet they still won't go away. OK Silva wasn't much of a loss; but, with the other three I thought they were toast.

Now I don't mean to scare you; but, the Twins have been on an every other year cycle.
