Wie left Ginn officials annoyed

Sources familiar with the situation said Michelle Wie's pro-am playing partners were less than enthused with her hospitality, and tournament organizers were left feeling the sponsor's exemption they extended to her was not appreciated. Problems at Bulle Rock began in Monday's pro-am. According to several sources, Wie's playing partners at the McDonald's again complained that she would walk off by herself after hitting a shot and had little interplay with any of the four amateurs. The complaints annoyed McDonald's officials and reached the office of LPGA commissioner Carolyn Bivens, sources said. There was also another incident Tuesday in which head LPGA rules official Doug Brecht ordered Wie's mother and father, Bo and B.J., and her physiotherapist off the practice range.

does anybody really care about this??? How about we wait for Ms Wie to actually win something, ANYTHING, before starting the 24 hour Wie TV channel.

June 6, 2007  12:43 PM ET

I agree. This is like NASCAR... no real fans, readers just wanna see a Wie wreck.

June 6, 2007  12:44 PM ET

She is full of herself ... great job BJ. She had such a promising career ahead of her. She should be glad to have a huge contract with Nike because thats where the money will end. How long will that Nike contract be around? With all of the negative press and attention the Nike symbol is everywhere. So maybe a while!

This is great! More bad Family advice. She needs to go hide on some course in Kuwait and just practice, practice, practice and get rid of the family business. They need to put someone in charge that has no emotional ties and can make clear choices for this poor girl.I don't blame her at all, she's a young little girl(not height) who is getting horrible advice. No need to rush things back out of the limelight for awhile get better and come back later and maybe it could be different for her.But if it continues there will be a smudge next to her name always. You better change something quick!

Spoiled brat who couldn't carry Annika's bag.

June 6, 2007  01:13 PM ET

She's nothing more than a spoiled little brat (or pick the b word of your choice) who thinks she is far more important and talented than she really is. Her "parents", to use the term loosely, should be barred from any golf course she plays and the tour should seriously look at dropping her until she proves she can win something. She'll never be anything but golf's version of Kournikova, without the looks.

June 6, 2007  03:22 PM ET

Apparently Wie would not like to play.

June 6, 2007  03:54 PM ET

I can't get enough of Michelle Wie stories. She is such a mess and the huge media overload that praised her now chastises her. She's done nothing since 2004 when she won the PubLinx tournament. She and her family deserve all the criticism they get for the way they've botched the handling of her "career".

June 6, 2007  05:33 PM ET

You're right there, DylanFan96818...Wie stories are sadly addicting...kind of like eating pork rinds or fried cheese. And Levon , I think you're on to something. 'Wie TV" 24 hour Wie and family. That could be HUGE.

June 6, 2007  05:36 PM ET

whoa...my post was edited in the several seconds that it took to press 'save' and from the time it showed up. here's the original...

You're right there, DylanFan96818. Wie stories are strangely addicting. Kind of like pork rinds or fried cheese. You know they're bad but you just keep eating 'em. And Levon, I really think you're onto something with 'Wie TV - 24 hour Wie'. Between her, her nutty parents, Phil Knight of Nike, her agents at William Morris, Leadbetter, various psychotherapists, etc...could be HUGE.

June 6, 2007  06:28 PM ET

She was SO LUCKY to turn pro when she did. Had she waited till she was finished with college, she'd have cost herself about $50 million. It's one thing to be a cute 15 year old...it's another to be a not-cute grown woman.

June 6, 2007  07:03 PM ET

how many of the past golf threads have been about her???? this is getting so **** ridiculous. shes has no positive features. 1) cant play golf 2) is not good looking

June 6, 2007  07:11 PM ET

Hmmm, I think she is smoking hot and that is the main reason she gets the exemptions to play. I bet if the LPGA looked really hard they coud find half a dozen or so 16 year olds that can play as well as her, but unless thay got the looks, it ain't happening.

June 6, 2007  09:15 PM ET

she is actually quite the contrary to your comment, and quite gross.

June 6, 2007  11:57 PM ET

She is 17, perverts. And on a scale of 1-10, I give her a 7.5. I also think once she hits her early 20s and gets away from daddy, and assuming there is no permanent physical/emotional/psychological damage, she will be fine because she still has the incredible physical gifts, she just has been mishandled by her overzealous family and coach. Let her make it on her own for a bit and find her own way. I would not be surprised if her career catches a second wind in about three to five years.

June 7, 2007  02:14 AM ET

Well... look at it this way... we now have a new catch phrase.

If some quits something, we can say that they took the "Wieasy" way out.

Ha ha!

June 7, 2007  08:48 AM ET

Momo Jenkins...That is funny as h_ell...I'm actually going to start using that...that's just great!! Hahahaha

June 7, 2007  10:41 AM ET

The sad thing is that her parents need to teach her some manners. If she was gracious and humble, people would be more patient with her. Her parents have told her the sun shines out of her ***, and unfortunately she believes them. I don't understand how she can be that cocky when she hasn't done anything to back it up.

June 7, 2007  11:27 AM ET

I was surprised to see that Annika Sorenstam laid out Wie verbally.

I think the best part is the line that says she's confused exemption with entitlement.

June 7, 2007  12:34 PM ET

You would think the Nike marketing machine would do a better job with her. Obviously her parents are clueless so the marketing gurus at Nike and her sports agency should get someone who can spin this thing back to her favor.
