Dodgers changing hitting coach
With the Dodgers' offense ranking among the worst in the league, the club is expected to change hitting coaches at the All-Star break by replacing Mike Easler with Don Mattingly, according to sources close to the situation who requested anonymity because the move hasn't been finalized. Mattingly is due to take over when the Dodgers start the second half of the season in Arizona on July 18. Manager Joe Torre declined to comment.

Mattingly won't last long. His family situation is horrible. His wife is a drunk and always has been since I worked at his restaurant in Evansville called Mattingly's 23. Her mug shot is on the net too. His wife and her family will make his life unworkable.

Bruce, I'll go along with the stache, it might help the Dodgers. they can use it. eddie murry was a great hitter so was mattingly, sometimes they don't make great coaches.

I do not understand this country. Man has glorious mustache and then cut off. Now tell me, what is difference between man and lesbian now? How can woman hold on to horns now? She cannot ride bull. No wonder wife drunk. I cannot look at such a man. His face is like neutered dog.

I think he will do a great job out there. besides he had the job before just gave it up since is wife is a nut job, but i think getting away from some of that will help him in the long run, plus Joe is out there to help him out...

didn't he have this job when Torre first got the skipper's job, and he opted out because he was splitting up with his wife?

Hmmm, the choice between living in Evansville with a nutjob of a wife or freedom in L.A., I wonder which he'll take? Tough choice there.

Normally this would have been too little too late, but since nobody in the NL West is worth a damn, this might be enough to vault the Dodgers as the best of the worst in this division. Especially if the D-backs fall on their sword and acquire Barroid Bonds.

I have no issue with Donnie Baseball taking over, but the real issue isn't the hitting, per se, it's the enormous lack of power in that lineup. The Dodgers need a slugger. Period.
