ABC changes concern NJ commish

The one word answer on Saturday night said it all. It was a simple, "no," from UFC president Dana White upon being asked if he would recognize the changes ratified by the Association of Boxing Commissioners. There was no followup by anyone in the room. The message was sent. The ABC can make lots of suggestions, UFC will do what it wants. This sounds bad but when you look at the major change which is the boxi-fication of weight classes, UFC should tell the ABC to get lost and go back to ruining your own sport. White isn't alone in his protest to the suggested change from the ABC, Nick Lembo, the head of the commission in New Jersey raised concerns.

I'm glad Dana is sticking to his guns and saying he isn't going to make those rule changes, especially having a champion for every ten pounds from 115-205, then a 225 lbs champion and a 265+ lbs champion. That would completely destroy MMA and make it exactly like boxing which is garbage with all of their meaningless titles. Who really cares about seeing a champion of some division called the Super Fly Welter Light Middle Weight? Garbage!

Guru, you appear to have no idea what you are talking about on any of these posts. ABC isn't going to have any effect on the UFC. Dana is right by telling ABC to mind their own business. There is absolutely no reason to have this many weight classes. There would have to be a UFC every week to be able to have all the fighters fight.

UFC every week??? Just think of how much "Poser-gear" sales that would generate. I am amazed Dana hasn't tried to merge with WWE to latch on to their fanbase also. They are almost the same when it comes to action with the WWE having the advantage.

pparently you don't realize how much money and corruption is involved with the ABC. If they really get mad at Dana, I am sure they can affect the ability to get 'sanctioned' in certain states. Your next PPV event may have to take place in Billings, MT

Why the hell does this boxing council even have authroity over MMA? MMA is a brutal sport, boxing is a joke.
