Pistons have interest in Delfino

With an eye toward bolstering the team's depth along the perimeter, the Pistons have been in contact with several free-agent swingmen around the league -- including a former player, Carlos Delfino. The NBA's free-agency signing period begins today, but the Pistons will not be in the market for big names, such as power forward Elton Brand. Instead, the team is looking for depth behind small forward Tayshaun Prince or shooting guard Rip Hamilton.

los spurs should get delfino. they would have the market cornered on spanish speakers. think of the endless marketing deals in that city. taco cabana, taco bell, .. it would be huge.

pistons really need to shake things up more than this.. theyre so stale

I would have much rather seen Pietrus, but hes going to Orlando. Please get Jones, or even Miles over this guy...

And, Joe D, about that no guy is safe thing... uhh... yeah...

what a total flip from what Jod D said originally....i still think this is a smoke screen to the real move coming soon....

Delfino wasn't that great to begin with.

Jod d = Joe D obviously.

Who is Carlos Delfino???

July 9, 2008  09:23 AM ET

Not sure why they are worried about a 10 minute a night player,
when they HAVE to move Wallace and replace him.....

July 9, 2008  09:49 AM ET

Good complementary player for some contending team...

July 9, 2008  09:51 AM ET

Why? Start out fresh Detroit!

July 9, 2008  10:22 AM ET

I agree with jgb, I would think Joe D would have more pressing concerns right now.

July 9, 2008  12:05 PM ET

Why would Delfino want to go back to the Pistons and ride the bench again? He would be a good player off the bench for some time. Definitely not a starter in the NBA.

July 9, 2008  12:47 PM ET

he could score off the bench maybe

July 9, 2008  12:59 PM ET

how about big flop billups & rip floppelton goes 2 another team & Stuckey takes over the team!

July 9, 2008  01:53 PM ET

lol i'd like to see that happen

July 9, 2008  04:01 PM ET

I have to feel that this is not what Dumars has in mind. Something big is coming, unless no one else has as high an opinion of the Pistons front line players as Dumars does.

July 9, 2008  04:14 PM ET

i agree turtleland
