D-Backs consider signing Bonds

With a stated need to improve against right-handed pitching, the Diamondbacks have had internal discussions regarding free agent Barry Bonds. Players also have brought up Bonds' name as a potential offensive booster. And while it may be a good time to pursue Bonds since he would seem to have something to prove after being bypassed this offseason, it is unclear how far the D-Backs will go, even after learning Tuesday that Eric Byrnes is almost certain to miss the remainder of the regular season regardless of whether he needs surgery for his torn left hamstring.

Man, after the Elton Brand signing with another team drama They better make sure that bonds does what he promised. Minimum salary which will go to a local foundation. Too many lies.

I still think that anyone that has been a cheat should be banned from baseball and not given a pardon. Bud Selig you are going down in history as the man that destoryed the American Game.

Omaar,

It is less about the fact that he did steriods, and more about the fact that he will be dealing with legal problems constantly and he is a cancer to the clubhouse. Teams that are in contention for a playoff spot don't need the distraction he would bring with him. If Barry Bonds had not been such an **** to everyone around him throughout his career, and if he didn't have the "I am holier than thou" attitude, and steriods were his only issue, he would be playing right now...
