The third day of the Blackhawks' prospects camp ended early Wednesday when defenseman Simon Danis-Papin hit the ice face-first with a scary neck injury. Danis-Papin, at 6-7 the tallest player in the Hawks' organization, collided with a teammate early in the third period of a scrimmage. He was largely motionless while trainer Mike Gapski and his staff administered medical treatment for about 20 minutes. After the other players were sent off the ice, Danis-Papin was taken by ambulance to Loyola Hospital, where he was to have X-rays taken. Gapski said the hospital trip was precautionary.

Poor guy, being 6"7 he had a long way to go before he hit the ice.

Danis-Papin gets hurt and they put a picture of Denis Savard and Martin Lapointe, who's not even a Hawk anymore! Nice going!

Hope the guy is all right.

Yeah, I know what you mean, DCruiser, sometimes the stories and pictures don't match at all.

Remember how a face plant ruined Kevin Stevens after he was hit by Islanders Rich Pilon's visor?

Stevens was never the same after that.

I always blamed it on Bonnie myself.

Brother Brett couldn't take a hit either.

I would watch a Pay-Per-View of the Lindros brothers and President Bush on Jeopardy. It would take all night though

I hope he's ok. I loved watching him play while he was at UMaine- nothing like see all 6'7" of him come bearing down on anyone with the puck and watching them panic. :)

The Blackhawks definitely picked up a quality player.

Hank, any thoughts on the Jason Strudwick signing, I'm not familiar with him.

Sorry to go off topic.

No, he's waiting with bated breath to see what Mats does, 'cause he really really likes him.
