Officials from The Home Depot, which has sponsored Tony Stewart through all 10 years of his NASCAR Cup career, had only nice things to say in the wake of Stewart's announcement Wednesday that he is leaving Joe Gibbs Racing and The Home Depot isn't coming with him. Stewart, sources have said, will become co-owner of Haas CNC Racing, and Stewart is negotiating with Office Depot and Old Spice as sponsors for 2009. Stewart has had tumultuous moments in his career, but The Home Depot stuck with him throughout. "The Home Depot has had a remarkable relationship with Tony Stewart and Joe Gibbs Racing since our sponsorship commenced back in 1998," said Frank Bifulco, chief marketing office for the home improvement chain. "With two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships and 32 race wins, Tony is a true competitor and an excellent ambassador for our company."

Good Morning all.
I guess it will be another Tony day today, well thats better then a KYLE day any day !

July 10, 2008  09:00 AM ET

don't really understand why they wouldn't go with tony, he is still going to be the driver he always has been, and i don't think it really matters what team he is with he is still going to be out there fighting for the win.. i think this would be a BIG mistake on HOME DEPOT's part NOT to go with TONY STEWART.

Do you think Tony will miss Kyle?

Do you think Tony will experience jealousy when Greg Zipadelli Starts to mentor Joey Legano?

Do you think Tony will fell remorse if Legano wins a championship in the upcoming years before anybody in his new operation does?

Are these too many questions this early in the morning?

I can't wait to get the Tony Stewart Old Spice "Collectable" bottle. Smelling like a NASCAR driver (or a bowling alley) is just what I wanted!! Will they have a picture of Jackie Moon on the hood?

I'm real sorry Asbel, but I'm gonna have to report you for confusing me so early in the morning.

I am usually good with pop culture but who the hell is Jackie Moon?

July 10, 2008  09:25 AM ET

It will be weird not seeing Tony in the home Depot car....just like it is not seeing JR in the BUD car ....kasey and bud that does not match....hope Joey learns to climb a fence

Does this answer your question.

July 10, 2008  09:28 AM ET

i think joey will climb a fence before tony.....................tony has forgotten how to climb this year..................it could be the weight

July 10, 2008  09:30 AM ET

Wholly Jesus!!! forget I asked.

July 10, 2008  09:30 AM ET

I heard that with Office depot, Tony is working on doing the Human "Paperclip" off the COT when he wins!

July 10, 2008  09:30 AM ET

Gibbs equipment puts Tony upfront, not the other way around. Look at the 20 car in Nationwide has won with 4 different drivers at the wheel... Home Depot is sticking with the car. When's the last time you saw A Hass-CNC car up front?

July 10, 2008  09:31 AM ET

I feel SO dirty!!LOL

July 10, 2008  09:48 AM ET

i think tony will experience what evernham went through for a couple years

you made the first sensible comment this morning......................most of the football guys are as dumb as a bag of rocks......................you are a true exception to that

If HD wants to stay with a winner....jump ship to Kyle Busch's team RIGHT NOW!!!

July 10, 2008  09:52 AM ET

I really think if Tony has any chance to be good again he had to get away from driving a Toyota. He said right up front he did not want to drive a foreign car, that and the distraction of trying to get out has distracted him even in the car... I hope he does well next year because he is a man who stuck to his word and money didn't keep him doing something he didn' want to do( drive a Toyota)
