According to Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi, the meeting was routine, but Hal Steinbrenner emerged from a lengthy, closed-door session with his general manager and manager yesterday to say he was disappointed in the Yankees' performance so far this year. Hal, who shares supervision of the team with his older brother Hank, said he was not happy about inconsistent hitting and pitching as well as a rash of injuries. He specifically mentioned young pitchers Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy, who are both on the disabled list.

Hank is a poor man's version of his father. He wishes he could be George.

I am a Yankee fan and I say deal with it Hank, it is baseball. The Yankees are inpretty good shape considering all their injuries. By the way, as much as you deny the appreciation Red Sox Nation, you are welcome for the 2 games of Rays defeat.

Man these two freak brothers of the rich and famous man....are not even close to knowing what is and how to play baseball. So they should....Get Over It. The Rays have gotten alot better and the Red Sox are their of course, so go ahead and stop the whining. Take the thumb out of your mouths and speak coherently and retoricly about things that are good about the team. All of this whining sorta turns me off to Arod's old lady. Please. The Yankees need Madonna....they really do.

You say this now? After winning 4 in a row against 2 very good teams?

Jr , is the only one who can almost see through the haze this morning I guess. He came closest to recognizing that the article is about HAL not HANK! But he too is sadly in error about the ferorcity of Hal's comments. And, did any of you readthe article? Bet not too many because if you did then you are as bad as SI and THE NY Post who are selectively making an issue of an innoucuos comment.
Hal: "The young pitchers at the beginning of year, it was upsetting at times. It wasn't what we thought. It didn't go exactly the way we thought it would go. But, you know, that's the way it is. We're highly confident in Kennedy and Hughes and that they're going to come back strong when they do come back."
Does this sound liek a person who is ranting and raving??????? No, huh?

Also, go read yesterday's article on the SI site. it was much more informative and quoted Hal and Cashman much more accurately and in better. context.

GUYS YOU FREAKING ARE RESPONDING TO SOMETHING FROM THE NY POSTAND you are also repsondfing to a headline created by FN to get the maximum reaction. It appears SI has been and will be successful throughout htis day in my opiniion.

More from the article on SI yesterday and remember this is HAL speaking not Hank:

"We try to get an idea of what it is they'd want and try to get an idea of just what our chances would be to sign any one of those players for a long-term deal. "We just felt it wasn't best for the organization to do anything with those two (CC & Harden) at this point."

From Cashman:
"We're staying the course, I know that. We have a certain direction we're taking, and that's trying to win in the short term and making sure that we're lined up for the long term at the same time."

Gawd if you are a Yankee fan is this refreshing or what???????
