Lakers forward Ronny Turiaf, a restricted free agent, is expected to sign an offer sheet with the Golden State Warriors today, according to a league source with knowledge of the negotiations. It would be a four-year deal for about $17 million. Once the offer sheet is relayed to the Lakers, they will have seven days to match it, a move they are not expected to make. The Lakers just paid nearly $5 million in luxury taxes for the 2007-08 season. The tax for 2008-09 will be triggered at $71.15 million. The Lakers payroll is at $75.1 million for 10 players.

The Lakers need to match it and let Sasha walk

Turiaf plays defense, unlike Vujacic

looks like Money may tear apart this team and this time Kobe will not be the cause. wonder who else they may lose due to luxury taxes.

**** cr@p you laker duds your bench is starting to thin

July 10, 2008  07:39 AM ET

Good Ridance...

July 10, 2008  07:42 AM ET

Oh men. No more bench mob?

July 10, 2008  07:52 AM ET

Lakers should keep him. Turiaf has shown that he can play in Phil's system. He's learned the system for 3 years now and the players are accustomed to him. Experience w/ the system is a valuable asset. Lakers should try to keep the same core of players and just add more better players. They were in the finals and now is not the time to break the team apart. Continuity is the KEY.

See ya!

July 10, 2008  08:30 AM ET

He is insignificant.
no way he should have a 4 year deal-
he is a ROLE PLAYER.
- his NBA career should be year to year for minimum NBA wage

GS is wasting their $ on him & if the lakers match, they are too

July 10, 2008  08:34 AM ET

This guy hustles, brings energy to the floor, and tries to get rebounds and play defense, unlike Vujacic and Radmonavic. They should keep him and let those two bums walk, and try to court Josh Smith.

July 10, 2008  08:52 AM ET

Way to go Golden State. How about bringing in a player this offseason that will actually do something??

July 10, 2008  08:55 AM ET

All you Laker haters know nothing about the Laker basketball. . Ronny brings intensity and hustle play. If the Lakers can give $30+Mil to Luke and Radman they can give Ronny $17mil. Ronny should also have some respect for team that paid for his heart surgery even though he never work a day in his life them.

"No neck" Turiaf is garbage if I were the Warriors I would not waste my money on this guy. Intensity is not everything yo need to play BKB HE CAN NOT PLAY DEFENSE people. Just the way Kobe got lit up by Pierce this guy couldnt handle Powe and Posey in the finals.
Kobe is overrated and this guy is too...Lakers got to the finals by accident.
A selfish players looks good on offense in any sport but is he a good defensive player...not even close. If you think otherwise ....STOP IT!

July 10, 2008  09:09 AM ET

Dont nobody thinks the lakers will win again. No matter who they bring or let go..Philly Jackson doesnt have Jordan nor Shaq to win him all those titles. Kobe can not and will not win nothing ever again... so keep Turiaf, yes.

Love Ronny to death but his intensity isn't worth $17mil. Wish him the best!

July 10, 2008  09:29 AM ET

I don't see how it is possible for the Warriors to make the playoffs.

so he doesn't play defense, mmm? why you don't ask that to the Utah JAZZ players, when Ron was on the court they couldn't do sh**..listen he might not be KG or Duncan, but the guy can play his heart out and he doesn't complain,so as far as role player goes, there's one...so if Ron doesn't deserve $4.2 mill per year, why Kurt Thomas,Reggie Evans , Kwame Brown or even Desagana Diop make more money???

so he doesn't play defense, mmm? he might not be KG or Duncan but the guy play his heart out and gives you all on the court,so why guys like Kurt Thomas,Desagana Diop,Reggie Evans or even Kwame Brown make more money?I think Ron is better than all those guys TOGETHER! so I agree with the Warriors as they will add a great role player to their team..
