Criticizing his manager isn't Jorge Posada's way, even as he spent yet another game away from his familiar spot behind the plate. Privately, however, Posada has expressed his dissatisfaction with Joe Girardi's decision to start Jose Molina in each of the Yankees' Thursday six games - including Thursday night's makeup game with the Pirates - according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Posada was in the lineup as the Bombers' first baseman, but when asked about his lack of time behind the plate, Posada got testy and made it clear that he still considers himself a full-time backstop.

What ever happened to the "team" in the phrase: "I play for the New York Yankees baseball TEAM." Apparently this doesn't exist in New York.

no one likes to look bad at his job. ever see a co-worker who is doing fine at his job get moved by management to another position then do poorly ? any good worker wants to be in position to do their best for the team, by working at the job they are best at.

July 11, 2008  06:54 AM ET

Maybe Joe trusts you to do a better job at first then his first baseman. You and Molina are both fine catchers. Do you think Jose can play first? I don't.

Now, who knows how much the reporter baited Jorge before he became testy?

ABSOLUTELY!!

July 11, 2008  07:09 AM ET

The whole situation cries out for someone "level headed" like Baby Boss Hank to explain the realities of the situation to the grumpy Posada....

July 11, 2008  07:22 AM ET

Be gald your playing...do what your axed...and ****!

July 11, 2008  07:25 AM ET

now whose whining!!! now whose whining!!! now whose whining!!!

July 11, 2008  07:33 AM ET

Is is just me, or isn't Posada about half a foot too short to ever be a good first baseman? Do the math. Why do you think first basemen use such gigantic scooping heavy gloves? Adds reach.

But I agree, quit whining.

It's pretty hard to take Molina out from behind the dish, he's been playing great back there. Georgie should be happy to take AB's anywhere he can get them.

Both very astute. Not only that, but he didn't expect to be behind the plate for the next four years, did he? God bless him, great catcher, no doubt, but hard as it's gonna be, he's gotta realize that the second half of his contract is gonna be all about tutoring the next yound starting catcher for the Yankees, and it ain't gonna be from behind the plate! There's a unique opportunity there with Jorge still on the team and Girardi managing.
Welcome to the first base rotation, Jorge!

Congratulations, sir. Should we expect fastballs instead of sinkers now?

Jorge, your shoulder is shot, you can't throw, everyone knows it. Just do what Joe says and shut up. We still love you.

I'm just sayin', where this nation is headed--to a bunch of nutless whiners; don't get me started here, I am already missing the days when I could let out my frustrations by pooping on the nearest head...
