D-Backs won't chase Bonds, Bradley

After internal discussions, the Diamondbacks have opted against pursuing Barry Bonds to aid a flagging offense, team sources indicated Wednesday. Nor are they interested in Texas DH/outfielder Milton Bradley, contrary to a radio report Wednesday. General manager Josh Byrnes did not specifically address Bonds or possible alternatives, but did say that while any moves before the July 31 nonwaiver trading deadline would likely involve offense, they would be more likely to come via trade.

Big surprise...now back to my morning ****...

July 11, 2008  08:17 AM ET

Bradley is having a nice season. For all the on/off the field issues he is being very productive.

Tomorrow's headline: "Long Island Ducks not Considering Bonds."

Go Ducks!!

Do you want kidney cancer or liver cancer? Gee what a choice!

Is B*nds running away? Is there anyone really interested in hiring this pariah? Uh, no, next.

July 11, 2008  09:02 AM ET

Bonds should worry more about going to jail then who he isn't playing for.. the man is done, stick him with a fork... i mean NO one wants to take a chance on him.

Bradley is having a good year in Texas, but he is still a time bomb waiting and ticking and he will end up going off at some point.. just a matter of when

Allot teams are "opting" not to use Bonds.. Clearly at this point he is cancer to anyone.

July 11, 2008  09:57 AM ET

Only an AL team would chase Bonds. He'd prolly want too much money though.

July 11, 2008  09:58 AM ET

Alou is done for the season. I'd sign this pumpkin headed jackal to play left in a minute.

Can he even play the field? I think he would be better in the AL DHing.

I would think that the D'backs would much rather add Bradley than Bonds.

Could he really be much worse than Manny, or Adam Dunn, or any number of left-fielders who probably shouldn't be out there?

July 11, 2008  11:08 AM ET

It's funny how Bonds remains a pariah and loser yet Jason Giambi is a mustache and thong wearin hero. Last I checked, he used steroids too...

July 11, 2008  11:25 AM ET

but he's producing now so it doesnt matter....(scarcism)

July 11, 2008  11:38 AM ET

Giambi came clean, though, and admitted it and apologized for it. Not defending that he juiced, but I can appreciate that he has come clean and apologized. The arrogant Bonds simply continues to deny what everyone knows. Kind of like Clemens
